  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Forced to remain at DH

Tests on Harper's elbow revealed a small tear in his UCL, and he will not throw for four weeks, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper has served exclusively as Philadelphia's designated hitter since April 17 and that will continue until at least the middle of June. The hope is that he will begin throwing at that time, and he'll also receive a PRP injection Sunday to help mitigate his pain. Though Harper will remain in the lineup most days, the team has announced he will be out Sunday against the Dodgers and perhaps Tuesday for the series opener against the Padres.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Not starting Thursday

Turner isn't starting Thursday against the Phillies.

Turner has been held hitless in four of the last five games, and he's gone 4-for-16 with three doubles, five RBI, four runs and four walks during that time. Max Muncy will start at third base while Edwin Rios serves as the designated hitter.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Sitting Thursday

Brantley is out of the lineup for Thursday's regularly scheduled game against the Twins, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 34-year-old finished out the suspended game from Wednesday, going 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs, but he'll take a seat for Thursday's regularly scheduled contest. Chas McCormick will shift to left field in Brantley's place while Jose Siri starts in center.

  • Mike Ford DH | MIN

Mariners' Mike Ford: Heading back to Seattle

Ford was acquired by the Mariners from the Giants on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations.

Ford was designated for assignment Wednesday and will now head back to Seattle, which traded him to San Francisco in late April. He appeared in only one game with the Giants and went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Delivers quality start Wednesday

Ohtani didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Rays, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

His only real mistake resulted in a Kevin Kiermaier solo shot in the second inning, but Ohtani still found himself on the hook for his third loss of the year until the Angels tied things up in the eighth. He also went 1-for-4 with his fifth stolen base of the season to go along with his second straight quality start, as the two-way superstar continues to display a skill set like no other.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Rangers' Brad Miller: Fighting out of slump

Miller went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Royals.

As is custom, Miller did not start against a left-hander, Gabe Speier, but equally customary he entered as a pinch hitter when a righty entered the game. He pinch hit for Charlie Culberson and remained in the game at third base. Miller corner outfielder/infielder has hits in six of the last 10 games, going 7-for-27 with two home runs and eight RBI during that stretch as he fights out of a slump. While the 32-year-old's line of .217/.236/.406 is unappealing, his situational hitting is another story. He's 4-for-9 with two homers as a pinch hitter and is batting .471 with runners in scoring position, placing him second on the club with 16 RBI.

  • Seth Beer DH | PIT

Diamondbacks' Seth Beer: Ends massive hitless streak

Beer went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 11-3 loss to the Marlins.

Beer's seventh-inning single must have felt good, as it snapped an 0-for-37 skid. He was Arizona's best hitter the first two weeks of the season, but as the rest of the team started to hit, Beer went the other way.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Records first steal

Belt went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.

Belt has now gone 3-for-8 in two games since he returned from neck stiffness. The first baseman also showed off a little speed with his first stolen base of the year. He hasn't attempted more than seven steals in any of the last six years, so he shouldn't be expected to contribute much in that area. The 34-year-old is slashing .253/.387/.467 with four home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored through 92 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Tallies 13th RBI

Blackmon went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI on Wednesday against the Giants.

Blackmon drove in Colorado's only run when he grounded into a fielder's choice in the sixth inning. He's in the midst of a cold spell, collecting only six hits across 43 at-bats in his last 11 games. Blackmon is also off to a slow start on the season, as he's maintained just a .219/.281/.390 line across 117 plate appearances. Despite that, he's still managed to rack up 13 RBI and 15 runs scored.

  • Pirates' Daniel Vogelbach: Smacks fifth homer

Vogelbach went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Vogelbach took Daniel Hudson yard in the seventh inning to tally his fifth home run of the season. It was a much-needed knock for Vogelbach, as he entered the game having collected only two hits in his last 25 at-bats. Despite the slow stretch, Vogelbach is in the lineup against nearly every righty the Pirates face, and he has settled into the cleanup spot. Overall, he is hitting .258/.337/.472 with 13 runs scored and 12 RBI across 101 plate appearances on the campaign.
