He drove in another run in the sixth inning with a single to record his second multi-RBI performance of the campaign. Ramirez now has a hit in five of his last six starts and maintains a .265/.296/.456 line across 71 plate appearances for the season.

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Set to start Friday

Ohtani was scratched from Thursday's start due to transportation issues, but will now start Friday against the Athletics instead, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani was on a team bus that got stuck in traffic, so he would not have gotten to the ballpark in time to properly prepare for his start. Instead he will serve as the designated hitter and bat second Thursday, and he will be lined up to take the mound Friday.

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Won't take mound Thursday

Ohtani will not be the starting pitcher for Thursday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

There has been no explanation yet for the shift in plans, though Ohtani is also not in the batting order for the contest. Patrick Sandoval will take the mound in Ohtani's place.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Giants' Darin Ruf: Placed on injured list

Ruf (hamstring) was placed on the injured list Thursday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Ruf suffered the injury while rounding first base in Wednesday's contest against the Diamondbacks. He'll now be out at least ten days, though the results of a pending MRI will dictate if he can return after the minimum amount of time. LaMonte Wade was recalled in the corresponding move.

  • Mike Ford DH | MIN

Yankees' Mike Ford: Not starting Game 2

Ford isn't starting Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against Toronto.

Ford started the first game of the twin bill and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base while Tyler Wade enters the lineup at the keystone.

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Not serving as DH on Thursday

Ohtani isn't in the lineup as the designated hitter for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Ohtani is serving as the starting pitcher in Thursday's matchup, but he won't be utilized as a two-way player to begin the game. Phil Gosselin will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Giants' Darin Ruf: Not starting Thursday

Ruf (hamstring) isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Ruf left Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent right hamstring injury and was slated to undergo an MRI on Thursday. While the results of his MRI aren't yet known, Jason Vosler will start at first base and bat eighth.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Takes seat for nightcap

Blackmon isn't starting the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Blackmon will get a breather after he went hitless in three at-bats during the first game of the twin bill. Yonathan Daza will start in right field and bat sixth.

Giants' Darin Ruf: Slated for MRI

Ruf (hamstring) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Ruf went 2-for-3 with a pair of base hits before he was removed from Wednesday's 5-4 win with an apparent right hamstring injury. Jason Vosler came on to replace Ruf and supplied a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth inning to lift the Giants to victory. With all of Brandon Belt (oblique), Wilmer Flores (hamstring) and Tommy La Stella (hamstring) on the injured list, Ruf will likely be in line for steady reps at first base if his own hamstring issue doesn't prove to be too significant. The Giants should have a better idea of Ruf's recovery timeline once the results of the MRI are read.
