  • Dany Jimenez RP | ATL

Athletics' Dany Jimenez: Encouraging throwing session

Jimenez (shoulder) threw from 90 feet on flat ground Tuesday, the team's official site reports.

Jimenez's stay on the injured list has now exceeded two months, but the right-hander's recovery does seem to be gathering some momentum. Jimenez had been throwing from 60 feet in early June, so the increase in distance without apparent setbacks is encouraging. However, he remains without a timetable for return at the moment, and a fairly lengthy rehab assignment will be in order before activation is considered.

  • Trevor Gott RP | WAS

Mariners' Trevor Gott: Takes third loss Tuesday

Gott (0-3) took the extra-innings loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and a walk across one inning.

Tasked with preserving a 4-4 tie when he entered in the 11th inning, Gott, who'd been activated from the injured list prior to Tuesday's game, nearly escaped unscathed but allowed a two-out, two-run double to Lane Thomas and an RBI single to Luis Garcia. Those three runs proved the difference in the game, handing the righty a loss. He also conceded five earned runs on four hits over one inning against the Rangers on June 4 in his last outing before going on the IL, and with that, Gott has seen what was once a 1.75 ERA quickly balloon to 3.90.

  • Trevor Stephan RP | CLE

Guardians' Trevor Stephan: Collects fourth win

Stephan (4-3) allowed an unearned run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to earn the win Tuesday over the Royals.

Stephan was briefly on the hook for the loss after giving up a run in the eighth inning, but the Guardians scored twice in the ninth to put him in line for the win. He's given up an unearned run in two straight outings, but it's been 9.2 innings since he surrendered an earned run. The setup man has a 2.12 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB with two saves, 12 holds and four blown saves over 34 innings this season.

  • Jorge Lopez RP | WAS

Twins' Jorge Lopez: No timetable for return

Lopez, who is on the 15-day injured list for mental health reasons, has been throwing, but there is no timetable for his return, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Lopez is eligible to return from the injured list Friday, but it doesn't sound like he'll be activated this weekend. He'll likely need a minor-league rehab stint when he's ready to return.

  • Sam Moll RP | CIN

Athletics' Sam Moll: Earns first career save

Moll allowed two hits and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Yankees.

Moll wasn't exactly sharp, but he was able to navigate the traffic on the basepaths to earn his first career save. He's filled a high-leverage role at times this year with five holds through 34 appearances, but Trevor May has handled most of the Athletics' closing chances in June. Moll has a 3.99 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB over 29.1 innings, though the lack of leads to protect limits his appeal in most fantasy formats despite the strong strikeout numbers.

  • Angels' Carlos Estevez: Narrowly avoids blow-up inning

Estevez picked up the save Tuesday against the White Sox. He allowed one run on four hits while striking out one over one inning.

Estevez took the reigns with a 4-1 lead, but he gave up a double to Eloy Jimenez on his first pitch and three consecutive singles to leave the bases loaded with no outs. However, Estevez managed to regain control of the inning, striking out Seby Zavala and then forcing Elvis Andrus to ground into a game-ending double play to secure the save. The save was his 20th of the year, good for fourth most in baseball.

  • Scott Barlow RP | ATH

Royals' Scott Barlow: Roughed up in blown save

Barlow (2-4) blew the save and took the loss in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians. He allowed two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over one inning.

Barlow inherited a 1-0 lead in the ninth but failed to convert on the save opportunity, giving up a single to Josh Naylor and a walk to Andres Gimenez before Will Brennan smacked a bases-clearing double to give Cleveland the lead and eventual win. Through 28 appearances (28.2 innings) Barlow owns a 4.40 ERA and a 40:14 K:BB with nine saves while acting as the Royals' primary closer all season. This was just Barlow's second blown save all season.

  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Grabs 24th save

Clase picked up the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Kansas City. He threw a perfect inning.

Clase took the mound with a 2-1 lead after a two-run ninth inning for the Guardians and recorded a perfect frame to snare his 24th save of the campaign. The outing moved him to 24-for-29 on save appearances and bumped him into the league lead in that category.

  • Kaleb Ort RP | LAA

Red Sox's Kaleb Ort: Likely to serve as opener Wednesday

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said after Tuesday's loss to the Marlins that Ort will likely be the team's opening pitcher for Wednesday's game versus Miami, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Ort worked as the opener June 19 for the Red Sox, and he went 2.1 innings against the Yankees while allowing two runs in the first game of a doubleheader. The right-hander will likely get a chance to go through the Miami lineup one time before giving way to the rest of the Boston bullpen, so he doesn't project to have a chance at qualifying for a win.

  • Athletics' Richard Lovelady: Throws 20-pitch bullpen session

Lovelady (elbow) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session before Tuesday's game versus the Yankees, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Lovelady has been on the 15-day injured list with a strain in his left elbow since June 16. The left-hander will likely need to throw a couple more sessions and may need a rehab assignment before having a chance to rejoin the Oakland bullpen in the early portion of July.
