Castillo (0-1) took the loss in Sunday's 5-2 loss against the White Sox. He allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out one over 4.2 innings.

Castillo followed Carlos Hernandez, who pitched the first two frames as an opener Sunday. After a strong start to the season with a 2.89 ERA and eight strikeouts through 9.1 innings, Castillo was knocked around by the White Sox. He was tagged for a solo homer by Luis Robert in the fourth, then gave up three runs in the fifth inning as Chicago took a 4-2 lead. Though Castillo has gotten a few looks as a long reliever, his 5.14 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 5.79 K/9 leaves him firmly outside of fantasy considerations.

Criswell (0-1) took the loss in Sunday's 6-4 loss against the Brewers. He allowed five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three over 4.2 innings.

Criswell made his first MLB appearance since April 21, going 4.2 innings in relief of Jalen Beeks, who served as an opener for the contest. Criswell served up a two-run homer to Rowdy Tellez in the fourth and another to William Contreras in the fifth on the way to a season-high five runs allowed. Though Criswell could work his way into streaming conversations if he continues to work in long relief, the 26-year-old can largely be ignored in season-long formats.

Manager Phil Nevin said Sunday that Silseth will move back to the bullpen to serve as a high-leverage reliever, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Silseth made his first start of the season Tuesday against the Orioles, but Jaime Barria will take the mound to begin Monday's series opener against the Red Sox. Silseth performed better in shorter relief appearances earlier this year, tossing five scoreless innings while picking up a hold over his first three appearances of the season.

Barria has been relatively effective as a multi-inning reliever to begin the season, posting a 1.96 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 23 innings over 10 appearances. The right-hander hasn't pitched in a game since tossing 25 pitches against the Orioles on Wednesday, so he should be fully rested ahead of his first start since August of 2022. Chase Silseth is moving to the bullpen to serve in a high-leverage role, so it's possible Barria makes multiple starts if he performs well Monday.

Quijada (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow May 17, per MLB.com.

An MRI and multiple doctors' opinions in early May determined that Quijada needed the season-ending procedure. The lefty reliever is slated to miss about 12 months, so he could return around the middle of 2024. Quijada recorded four saves and five holds while posting a 6.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 10 appearances prior to going down with the injury.

Warren underwent surgery on his right elbow May 17, per MLB.com.

Warren was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in early May, and Tommy John surgery was the recommended course of action. The righty reliever is expected to be out until sometime near the middle of next season.

The Angels optioned Weiss to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Weiss was one of three members of the Angels bullpen to get sent down Sunday, with Jimmy Herget and Andrew Wantz also being demoted. The 30-year-old right-hander ceded one run on three hits and one walk over 1.2 innings across two appearances out of the big-league bullpen.

Wantz allowed two runs over two innings out of the bullpen in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Twins, so the Angels will swap him off the 26-man active roster for a fresh arm heading into Sunday's series finale. The right-hander has now been demoted three times this season, despite delivering a 3.32 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB in 21.2 innings with the big club.

The Angels optioned Herget to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Herget was one of three relievers moved off the 26-man active roster as the Halos welcome a trio of fresh bullpen arms from the minors ahead of Sunday's series finale with the Twins. Over 12 appearances with the Angels this season, Herget has posted a 4.38 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB in 12.1 innings.

The Angels selected the contract of Webb from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Webb signed a minor-league contract with the Angels in November, and while he didn't make the Opening Day roster, the right-hander will now have a chance to work out of the big-league bullpen. He'll likely be ticketed for a middle-innings role in the early going.
