Pilkington allowed two runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Serving as the 27th man for the twin bill, Pilkington was solid but not much more than that. He received no run support while in the game, but the Guardians' offense got him off the hook with a four-run rally in the seventh. The southpaw now has a 4.17 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 40:24 K:BB across 45.1 innings in 12 appearances (nine starts) with the Guardians this year. While it hasn't been officially announced yet, Pilkington is expected to return to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, though he'll remain Cleveland's preferred spot starter while Aaron Civale (wrist) is out.

Foster walked one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in a 5-4 win over the Guardians in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Liam Hendriks pitched in the matinee and took the loss, so he was unavailable for the nightcap. Foster was able to protect a one-run lead despite throwing only seven of 15 pitches for strikes, earning his first save of the season. The right-hander has allowed five runs (four earned) in eight innings in July, and he owns a mediocre 4.97 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB while adding five holds and a 1-2 record in 38 innings overall.

Patino was optioned to Triple-A Durham following his start Saturday against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Patino pitched four innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three in a no-decision versus the Royals. The right-hander will now head to Durham to open a roster spot for Jeffrey Springs (leg) to return from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's series finale. Patino owns a 6.75 ERA over three starts with the Rays this season and will look to get back into a groove in Triple-A.

Barlow (4-2) earned the win Saturday versus the Rays. He allowed three hits in two scoreless innings.

Barlow didn't strike out or walk a batter. He kept the game tied, and stayed in the game after the Royals pulled ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Barlow's scoreless streak is up to nine innings over his last eight appearances, and he's picked up four saves and two wins in that span. The closer has a 1.97 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 44:12 K:BB through 45.2 innings. This was his 12th appearance longer than one inning this season, so he's no stranger to handling a heavier workload than a traditional closer.

Patino allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision versus the Royals on Saturday.

The runs against Patino came in the third inning, but the Rays were able to get him off the hook in the seventh. In his second start back from an oblique injury that kept him out for three months, the right-hander was able to stretch out to 72 pitches (41 strikes), up from 56 pitches in his previous outing. He struggled against a weak-hitting opponent, and Patino now has a 6.75 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 3:4 K:BB across eight innings in three appearances this season.

Clase pitched a perfect ninth inning on the way to a save in the Guardians' 7-4 Game 1 victory over the White Sox in Saturday's doubleheader.

Clase was called upon to protect a 7-4 advantage in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 1 on Saturday, retiring all three batters he faced in order on his way to his 20th save of the year. The closer has now converted 14 consecutive save opportunities and he's 20-for-22 overall this season. Clase remains one of the most consistent closers and now owns a 1.37 ERA and 0.74 WHIP with 41 punchouts over 39.1 innings in 41 appearances.

Honeywell (elbow) threw approximately 35 pitches during a bullpen session Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Honeywell resumed playing catch in early June and has been increasing his throwing distance over the last few weeks. He threw all fastballs and changeups during Saturday's throwing session, and he'll likely be in the mix to face hitters soon as long as he feels good following his bullpen. Honeywell suffered a stress reaction of his right elbow in late March, but manager Mark Kotsay is optimistic that the right-hander will be able to return sometime during the second half of the season.

King was placed on the 60-day injured list Saturday with a fractured right elbow.

We already knew King was done for the season after he suffered a fractured elbow Friday. This was a breakout year for the righty reliever, as he registered a 2.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 66 strikeouts in 51 innings of work. He also notched six wins and one save.

Strahm (wrist) has resumed playing catch, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Strahm is still dealing with a stiff wrist a week and a half after landing on the injured list, but it's encouraging that he's able to begin a throwing program. A better timetable for his return should be revealed once he ramps up his intensity.

Cano was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Cano made nine relief appearances for Minnesota earlier in the year and posted a 9.26 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in 11.2 innings. He'll rejoin the Twins' bullpen after Caleb Thielbar (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday.
