Sewald allowed one earned run on one hit and struck out two Thursday against the Athletics to earn the save.

Sewald entered the game with a two-run lead. He surrendered a solo home run to Matt Olson to cut the lead in half, but he ultimately shut the door to earn to his 10th save. Sewald and Drew Steckenrider have split saves evenly for much of September, with Sewald collecting three and Steckenrider four.

Baumann was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Baumann was called up on Sept. 7 to make his major-league debut and pitched 10 innings since, allowing 11 earned runs and maintaining a 5:6 K:BB. Though he's well-regarded within the Orioles' farm system, Baumann appeared to be overmatched in his first stint in the majors.

Foster was returned to Triple-A Charlotte after Thursday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Foster was up as the 29th man for the doubleheader, so this move was procedural. He threw 1.1 innings Thursday, surrendering two earned runs on a walk and two hits. For the season, Foster has a 6.32 ERA with a 40:13 K:BB across 37 innings with the White Sox.

Hatch exited Thursday's game against the Twins after being visited on the mound by a trainer, Gregor Chisholm of the Toronto Star reports.

Hatch was seen grimacing after throwing a pitch, and he was visited by trainers immediately after. There are no details on the nature of the injury at this time, but it is clear that Hatch was in a fair amount of discomfort.

Marte was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after Wednesday's game.

Marte made his major-league debut with the Angels on Aug. 20, but he was placed on the COVID-19 injured list just two days later. He was activated Sept. 17 and made three appearances since, allowing four earned runs -- all of which came in one outing -- across two innings of work.

Yarbrough will pitch behind opener David Robertson in Friday's series opener against the Marlins, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Yarbrough has struggled in his last three appearances with a 15.68 ERA and 2.52 WHIP in 10.1 innings during that time, and he'll be utilized as a primary pitcher against Miami. The southpaw was able to get out of trouble early in his last start, so he'll attempt to replicate his early success behind an opener Friday.

Robertson will serve as an opener in Friday's game against the Marlins, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Robertson tossed a scoreless relief inning against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, and he'll begin Friday's series opener on the mound for the Rays. Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough is expected to serve as the primary pitcher.

Borucki is appealing a three-game suspension for intentionally hitting Kevin Kiermaier with a pitch Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Borucki will be available out of the Blue Jays' bullpen while his appeal is heard. The southpaw has made three relief appearances since he was recalled in mid-September, and he's posted a 2.70 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 3.1 innings during that time.

Saucedo was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

Saucedo was recalled by Toronto on Sunday, and he allowed three runs (two earned) in 2.1 innings across two relief appearances during his stint with the major-league club. He'll head back to the minors in order to make room for right-hander Thomas Hatch in the big-league bullpen.

Hatch was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

The 26-year-old will join the Blue Jays for their series opener against the Twins. In two major-league outings this year, he has allowed four runs in 7.2 innings. Jake Lamb was designated for assignment Thursday in a corresponding move.
