Hearn (0-1) took the loss Monday as the Rangers fell 1-0 to the Rays, giving up one run on one hit and two walks over three innings of relief. He struck out seven.

The southpaw was impressive as the second half of the Rangers' tandem Monday following four scoreless innings from Dane Dunning, but Hearn's only real mistake got taken deep by Willy Adames with two outs in the seventh inning for the game's only run. Hearn had a shaky start to the season and still holds a 5.40 ERA through 8.1 innings, but his 12:5 K:BB highlights his potential.

Chapman gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his first save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Randal Grichuk led off the ninth with a double, but Chapman let him get no further and needed only 12 pitches (nine strikes) to nail down the save. The southpaw has been absolutely filthy to begin the season, keeping a 0.00 ERA through four innings, and Cavan Biggio's flyout Monday was the first batter Chapman has set down on something other than a strikeout.

Clase (1-1) was charged with the loss Monday after allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk in one-third of an inning.

First baseman Yu Chang fielded what looked like a potential double-play ball and hit the runner at second base with the throw, allowing the winning run to score for the White Sox. Clase created the traffic on the basepaths with an infield hit allowed and a free pass, but the fireballing righty has separated himself with his performance early and this shouldn't affect his standing in the bullpen hierarchy.

Honeywell, who was optioned to the Rays' alternate training site Sunday after a successful big-league debut as an opener against the Yankees, will continue to build his arm up there over the next month, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Honeywell was masterful against New York's fearsome lineup while firing 21 pitches over two perfect frames, his first official regular-season game action of any type since 2017. The Rays have naturally been cautious in building Honeywell up since spring began after the 26-year-old endured four surgeries over the previous three years, and in another few weeks, he could conceivably be ready to handle a volume of 50-60 pitches.

Fleming is considered the most likely option among pitchers at the Rays' alternate training site to take the injured Chris Archer's (forearm) place in the rotation, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Fleming was nearly unhittable in Grapefruit League play after posting a 2.78 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across his first 32.1 big-league innings last season, making five starts among his seven appearances during the latter span. The southpaw therefore seemingly has the qualifications to temporarily step into a rotation role, albeit one that could be of relatively short duration if the recent news that Archer may not miss much time holds true.

Barria was sent to the Angels' alternate training site Monday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Barria has made just one big-league appearance this season, giving up seven runs in two frames Saturday against the Blue Jays while walking four and failing to strike out a single batter. Ben Rowen was called up to take his long-relief role.

Hernandez underwent Tommy John surgery Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Hernandez was seen as one of the favorites to close for the Rangers this season before spraining his UCL in early March. The issue hasn't progressed as the team hoped, so he'll now miss the entirety of this season as well as roughly half of the 2022 campaign. With several other injuries striking the Rangers' bullpen, veteran Ian Kennedy has picked up the team's two saves thus far.

Misiewicz was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Monday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

The Mariners didn't initially provide a reason for Misiewicz's placement on the injured list, but the team has now specified that his absence is COVID-related. The designation doesn't necessarily mean that the southpaw has tested positive for the virus himself. Misiewicz will be able to return before the minimum 10 days as long as he isn't dealing with a positive test result of his own. Erik Swanson was recalled from Seattle's taxi squad to fill in as a reliever in Misiewicz's absence.

Swanson was recalled by the Mariners on Monday.

Swanson began the season at the Mariners' alternate training site even though he posted a 2.84 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in 6.1 innings this spring. However, he'll rejoin the major-league bullpen after Anthony Misiewicz was placed on the injured list for an unspecified reason Monday. Swanson gave up 11 runs in 7.2 innings across nine relief appearances for Seattle last year and will presumably serve in a low-leverage role in 2021.

The Mariners placed Misiewicz on the 10-day injured list Monday due to an unspecified issue.

Seattle hasn't revealed whether Misiewicz's placement on the IL was the result of an injury or a COVID-19-related concern. If it's the latter, Misiewicz could be able to return before the minimum 10 days, provided he hasn't actually tested positive for the virus himself. Seattle recalled Erik Swanson from its taxi squad to provide some extra depth in the bullpen while Misiewicz is on the shelf.
