Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Throws off flat ground
Fulmer (oblique) threw off flat ground for the first time since being placed on the DL immediately after the All-Star break, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports.
Fulmer's last appearance came against the Astros on July 14, during which he was roughed up for seven runs on 10 hits across 4.2 innings. Less than a week later he was put on the 10-day disabled list with a Grade 1 left oblique strain after suffering the injury in a standard bullpen session. The Tigers have yet to offer up a timetable for his return, but it's expected that he will need time to throw a couple bullpens and potentially go out on a rehab assignment, so don't expect him to return for another couple weeks.

Donnie Hart RP | BAL
Orioles' Donnie Hart: Called up from Triple-A
Hart was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Hart will rejoin the Orioles' bullpen after spending the past week in the minors. Over 9.2 innings of relief with the big-league club this year, he's posted a 3.72 ERA and 1.97 WHIP with five strikeouts. Look for him to be deployed in low-leverage spots.

Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC
Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Takes loss Tuesday
Pomeranz (1-5) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three over five innings in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to Philadelphia.
Pomeranz once against exhibited poor command -- 50 of 95 pitches for strikes, two hit batsmen -- and diminished velocity (89.1 mph). He was better than his last time out, but he still put 10 men on base in five innings. There had been talk of the left-hander not being part of the rotation going forward, but he appears to have gotten a reprieve when Boston placed Chris Sale on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation. That, coupled with a doubleheader next week, may give him another couple of starts to prove he should remain in the starting five. With the Sale transaction and days off coming Wednesday and Monday, the rotation is in flux. Pomeranz is tentatively scheduled to start next Tuesday in Toronto.

Ryne Stanek RP | STL
Rays' Ryne Stanek: Tosses one scoreless inning as opener
Stanek worked around a hit and a walk with one strikeout in a scoreless inning of work as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Stanek allowed a leadoff single and walked a man with two outs, but he was able to close out the inning before any real damage was done. He threw 12 of 18 pitches for strikes but was limited to one inning this time out. Stanek has posted a strong 2.38 ERA and 1.06 WHIP this season, but his specific role doesn't provide much in the way of fantasy value in terms of wins or saves. He should be slated to come out of the bullpen again this week before perhaps opening another game this weekend.

Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Records 29th save
Chapman secured his 29th save of the season against the Orioles on Tuesday by striking out the side.
Chapman has struck out the side in back-to-back outings and required only 13 pitches to do so Tuesday. The 30-year-old has struggled in some non-save appearances, but has converted 22 straight save opportunities and has blown only one all season with a 1.88 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 76 strikeouts across 43 innings.

Ryan Bollinger RP | NYY
Yankees' Ryan Bollinger: Returns to Double-A
Bollinger was optioned to Double-A Trenton following Tuesday's win over the Orioles.
It was the second one-day stay with the Yankees for Bollinger this season, and he has gone unused both times. The 27-year-old has yet to make an appearance in the majors, and has a 4.86 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 66.2 innings with the Thunder this season.

Andrew Kittredge RP | BAL
Rays' Andrew Kittredge: Returns to minors
Kittredge was optioned to Triple-A Durham after Tuesday's win over the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Kittredge was most recently recalled from the Bulls on July 27 and allowed three runs over 2.1 innings during his lone appearance Sunday. The 28-year-old has an ugly 8.03 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 16:11 K:BB across 24.2 innings with the Rays in 2018.
-
Brian Johnson RP | BOS
Red Sox's Brian Johnson: To start Thursday against Yankees
Johnson will take the hill Thursday against the Yankees, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Johnson will temporarily take Chris Sale's spot in the rotation after the latter was placed on the 10-day DL due to a mild case of left shoulder inflammation. Since Sale is only expected to miss one start, Johnson will likely return to the bullpen next week.

John Axford RP | MIL
Blue Jays' John Axford: Traded to Dodgers
Axford was traded from the Blue Jays to the Dodgers on Tuesday in exchange for Corey Copping, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Axford, 35, joins his ninth organization after this deadline deal, and should work as a middle reliever for the Dodgers down the stretch. He had a 4.41 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 51 innings with the Blue Jays prior to the trade.

Evan Phillips RP | LAD
Orioles' Evan Phillips: Shipped to Baltimore
Phillips was traded from the Braves to the Orioles on Tuesday along with Jean Carlos Encarnacion, Brett Cumberland, Bruce Zimmerman and international signing slots in exchange for Kevin Gausman and Darren O'Day.
A 23-year-old right-handed reliever, Phillips has been up and down between the majors and Triple-A this year (currently at Triple-A). He only has 6.1 innings in the majors but sports an impressive 1.99 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 59 strikeouts in 40.2 innings at Triple-A. Phillips could eventually develop into a setup man for the Orioles.
