Fluharty (5-1) picked up the win Monday over the Nationals, striking out one over 1.1 perfect innings of relief.

Max Scherzer lasted just 2.2 frames as the starter after being activated from the IL earlier in the day, and Fluharty took the mound with the Blue Jays already ahead 2-1 in the third inning and was credited with the victory. The southpaw reliever has been scored upon just twice in nine July appearances, posting a 2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB in nine innings on the month.

Chapman picked up the save Monday against the Athletics. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out three over a scoreless inning.

Two Athletics hitters reached base, one via an infield single and the other on an error, but Chapman struck out the side to secure his 25th save. The hard-throwing southpaw has logged eight consecutive scoreless outings, picking up a win and seven saves during this stretch. Through 34.2 innings this season, the 38-year-old owns a 1.82 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 45:17 K:BB while serving as the Red Sox's unquestioned closer.

Perkins (2-6) took the loss Monday, allowing two runs on a hit and three walks over 5.2 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out four.

The right-hander didn't allow a run while on the mound, but after departing with two runners aboard and two outs in the sixth inning, Jose Suarez surrendered a grand slam to Ceddanne Rafaela that saddled Perkins with the loss. Monday's performance was encouraging, though it's been a challenging season for the 26-year-old, who opened the campaign in a relief role before shifting into the starting rotation in June. He owns a 6.45 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 80:27 K:BB across 68.1 innings over 26 appearances (eight starts). Perkins is next lined up to pitch Saturday against the Tigers.

Bachman blew the save Monday against Houston. He allowed an unearned run on no hits, two walks (one intentional) and a hit-by-pitch while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.

Entering with runners on the corners and one out in a one-run game in the ninth inning, Bachman was unable to put out the fire, allowing three runs to score and blowing the save. No earned runs were charged to the 26-year-old, as the first two were inherited from Jose Fermin and the third was unearned due to Bachman committing a fielding error. The right-hander is now 1-for-4 in save opportunities and owns a 4.26 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 46:24 K:BB across 44.1 innings in 2026.

Hader picked up the save Monday against the Angels. He allowed no hits and two walks with no strikeouts over a scoreless inning.

Entering with a two-run cushion, Hader allowed two free passes that brought up the go-ahead run with two outs, but he was able to induce a weak groundout from Vaughn Grissom to secure the victory. Hader has yet to falter in a save opportunity, converting all 13 of his chances while allowing just one run in those situations. Overall, the southpaw owns a 1.29 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 33:10 K:BB across 21 innings after missing the first two months of the season due to a bicep injury.

Bednar notched a save against the White Sox on Monday by striking out the only batter he faced.

The Yankees carried a 9-4 lead into the ninth inning, but a pair of fielding errors and a walk in the bottom of that frame brought the tying run to the on-deck circle for Chicago with two outs. Manager Aaron Boone then turned to Bednar, who struck out Chase Meidroth on five pitches to extinguish the flames. Bednar has notched three saves over the past four days to boost his season total to 21 -- tied for ninth most in the majors. He's now gone 21 outings spanning 24 innings without giving up an earned run, posting a 25:5 K:BB during that span.

Varland secured the save Monday against the Nationals, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk in the ninth inning. He struck out two.

Washington got the potential tying and go-ahead runs on base Monday, but Varland ultimately slammed the door for his fourth consecutive scoreless outing. The hard-throwing right-hander has been sublime since usurping Jeff Hoffman as Toronto's closer, successfully converting all 22 of his save opportunities this year. Through 53 innings, Varland boasts a 1.02 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 72:14 K:BB to establish a strong grip on the closing gig.

Garcia was credited with the save in Monday's 8-5 win over Detroit, when he struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning.

Garcia was tagged with a blown save in three of his four outings prior to Monday's game, but he managed to get the job done in Detroit on 17 pitches (10 strikes) with two punchouts. Given the number of opportunities he's had since the All-Star break, Garcia could be the Orioles' preferred option at closer over Andrew Kittredge and Tyler Wells in the absence of both Ryan Helsley (elbow) and Felix Bautista (shoulder).

Waguespack, who tossed two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts Monday against the Orioles, now has a 1.47 ERA across 18.1 innings this season.

Waguespack allowed an earned run in his last appearance before Monday, but prior to that, he had rattled off 10 straight scoreless outings. The righty did not pitch in the majors in 2025, and he had a 5.40 ERA in limited action in 2024, so it remains to be seen if he can maintain his current form. As it stands, Waguespack is starting to earn some degree of trust within Detroit's bullpen, and his role could increase accordingly.

Leiter will undergo surgery Tuesday to address a right hip impingement and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Leiter landed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to the injury, which he'll opt to treat with a procedure rather than rest and rehab. The 35-year-old righty will close out the season with a 4.28 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, five holds and four saves across 33.2 innings.
