  • Pirates' Colin Holderman: Reinstated from IL

Holderman (wrist) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Holderman will make his return to the big-league bullpen after missing the minimum 15 days with right wrist inflammation. The right-hander has produced a 4.01 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 28 strikeouts while recording 12 holds and a save over 24.2 innings in 26 appearances with Pittsburgh in 2023. Cody Bolton was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

Pirates' Cody Bolton: Optioned to Triple-A

The Pirates optioned Bolton to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Bolton will be pushed off the major-league roster due to the return of Colin Holderman (wrist) from the 15-day injured list Friday. Bolton threw a scoreless inning during his lone appearance after being recalled last week, but he holds an 11.00 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in the majors this season.

  • Dylan Lee RP | ATL

Braves' Dylan Lee: Moved to 60-day IL

Lee (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Charlie Culberson. Lee has been out since mid-May with left shoulder inflammation and now can't be activated until the second half, although the move doesn't appear to significantly impact his likely timeline for a return as he hasn't yet been sent on a rehab assignment.

  • Andrew Nardi RP | MIA

Marlins' Andrew Nardi: Vultures another win

Nardi (6-1) picked up the win Thursday, striking out one batter without allowing a run in two-thirds of an inning against the Red Sox.

Jesus Luzardo gave up a couple one-out singles in the seventh inning of a scoreless game and got the hook, but Nardi needed only seven pitches (five strikes) to escape the jam and become the pitcher of record when the Marlins pushed across a run in the top of the eighth. The 24-year-old southpaw continues to have a breakout campaign -- he's been scored upon only once in 25 appearances since the beginning of May, posting a 0.78 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 33:5 K:BB through 23 innings over that stretch while adding four wins, two saves and seven holds to his ledger. A.J. Puk remains the closer for the Marlins, but Nardi's dominance has moved him into a prominent high-leverage role.

  • Drey Jameson RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Drey Jameson: Continues scoreless run

Jameson allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over three scoreless relief innings in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Rays.

Jameson was part of a bullpen crew that logged seven scoreless frames after starter Brandon Pfaadt allowed six runs in two-plus innings. For Jameson, it was his fourth consecutive scoreless, multi-inning appearance, and over that stretch he's given up seven hits and one walk over 9.1 innings with 10 strikeouts. The right-hander has a 2.61 ERA out of the bullpen since being called up from Triple-A Reno in late May. The Diamondbacks are expected to be in the market for starting pitching, but until they land one, Jameson has a path back into the rotation. He's thrown 20.2 innings over eight relief appearances, so it wouldn't take long to stretch him out.

  • Devin Williams RP | NYM

Brewers' Devin Williams: Survives for another save

Williams picked up a save against the Mets on Thursday, yielding one hit and two walks while striking out one batter over one scoreless inning.

Williams came on in the ninth inning with Milwaukee holding a one-run lead and certainly made the final frame interesting. The righty reliever allowed New York to load the bases with two outs, but he struck out Starling Marte to escape the jam and notch his 16th save. Three of those saves have come over the past four days, and Williams has racked up six saves without allowing a run over seven outings since June 16.

  • Keaton Winn RP | SF

Giants' Keaton Winn: Fares well in first MLB start

Winn (0-1) took the loss against Toronto on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out three batters over six innings.

Winn pitched well in his first start as a big-leaguer, needing just 67 pitches to get through six frames. He kept the Blue Jays off the scoreboard through 5.2 innings before Vladimir Guerrero tagged him for a two-run, two-out homer in the sixth to break a scoreless tie. A lack of run support resulted in Winn taking the loss, but he certainly pitched well enough to earn another start. Should he be given that opportunity, he's tentatively lined up to face the Mariners at home his next time out.

  • A.J. Puk RP | ARI

Marlins' A.J. Puk: Registers 13th save

Puk earned a save against the Red Sox on Thursday, striking out two batters in one perfect inning.

Puk was tasked with preserving a staff shutout with Miami holding a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. He had no trouble doing so, throwing 12 of 16 pitches for a strike and retiring the side in order. Since returning from a nearly month-long stint on the injured list June 7, Puk has gone 7-for-8 in save opportunities, allowing three earned runs over 10.1 innings while posting a 9:1 K:BB.

  • Craig Kimbrel RP | NYM

Phillies' Craig Kimbrel: Locks down 12th save

Kimbrel struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Cubs.

Kimbrel needed just eight pitches to set the Cubs down in order in the ninth inning. During his active nine-inning scoreless streak, Kimbrel has allowed just three hits, a walk and a hit-by-pitch while striking out 16. The closer has a 3.82 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB through 33 innings this season, and he's up to 12 saves and three holds without a blown save on his ledger in 2023.

  • Justin Bruihl RP | STL

Dodgers' Justin Bruihl: Recalled to bullpen

The Dodgers recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Bruihl will return to the Dodgers' bullpen mix ahead of Thursday night's series finale against the Rockies. The 26-year-old lefty has registered a 4.41 ERA and 13:3 K:BB through 16.1 major-league innings this year.
