Hicks picked up the save Sunday against the Mets, allowing one hit over a scoreless inning. He did not record a strikeout or walk.

With Ryan Helsley (forearm) on the injured list, Hicks has locked down saves in back-to-back days. Giovanny Gallegos also figures to get some ninth-inning work with Helsley unavailable, but it appears it's Hicks' job to lose for now. The right-hander started his career as a closer, but he's struggled to stay healthy and was recently limited to mostly set-up duties when available.

Nardi picked up the save in Sunday's 4-2 victory over Washington. He allowed a hit while striking out two over a scoreless inning.

With A.J. Puk having pitched the last two days, the Marlins' turned to Nardi in the ninth after using Dylan Floro in the eighth. The 24-year-old Nardi has been tremendous for Miami this season -- he hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 20 appearances (19.1 innings), recording 25 strikeouts in that span. Nardi's ERA is down to 2.27 with a 1.01 WHIP and 39:9 K:BB across 31.2 innings this season. Puk figures to have a firm hold on the closing job, but Nardi could see the occasional save chance as he's worked his way up the Marlins' bullpen hierarchy.

Winn was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The 25-year-old was demoted to Sacramento on Wednesday but will quickly rejoin the major-league club with Alex Cobb (oblique) landing on the injured list. Winn made his big-league debut June 13 in St. Louis and earned a save after he allowed one run across four frames in a blowout victory.

Hoeing is expected to start Monday against the Blue Jays, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The right-hander started a couple games after being called up by the Marlins in late April, but he's worked out of the bullpen over the past six weeks and has a 3.12 ERA for the season. Hoeing threw 34 pitches over two frames in his previous outing June 12, so he shouldn't be expected to cover more than three or four innings Monday.

Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Hudson (knee) could be activated during the Dodgers' road trip that begins June 27 in Colorado and runs through July 2 in Kansas City, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Hudson made five rehab outings in the Arizona Complex League before recently shifting his rehab assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he's likely to make a handful of appearances before rejoining the big club. The veteran right-hander has been sidelined since he suffered a torn ACL last June, and he could move into a high-leverage role fairly quickly once activated.

Borucki's contract was selected from Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pirates on Sunday.

Borucki will take the roster spot of Jose Hernandez after Hernandez was placed on the injured list with a calf strain. Signed to a minor-league contract by the Pirates in May after electing free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment from the Cubs, Borucki will be a middle-innings option for the Bucs while he's on the major-league roster.

The Pirates placed Hernandez on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right calf strain, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Hernandez was a Rule 5 draft selection by the Pirates over the winter, and the left-hander has more than held his own with a 2.63 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 26 appearances and 27.1 innings with the club. He'll be out for at least the next two weeks, however, and Ryan Borucki was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis in the corresponding transaction.

Megill tossed a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 5-0 victory over the Pirates.

Megill got a chance to finish Saturday's contest with the Brewers up a handful of runs, and after allowing a single to the first batter he faced, he slammed the door by striking out the next three. Megill has primarily been used in mop-up duty, but he has been effective of late, tossing 4.2 scoreless innings while giving up just three hits and posting a 7:2 K:BB over his last five appearances.

Wilson earned a hold against Tampa Bay on Saturday, striking out two batters in one inning.

Wilson followed Blake Snell's six scoreless frames with one of his own, needing just 13 pitches to retire the side in order. The right-hander has held the opponent scoreless in 17 of his past 18 outings, posting a 0.95 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB over 19 innings during that span. He's emerged as one of the Padres' most reliable relievers and is tied for third in the majors with 14 holds, making him a solid option in fantasy leagues that count that category.

Padres manager Bob Melvin said this weekend that Suarez (elbow) will throw another bullpen session in the coming days but remains without a definitive timeline for a return from the 60-day injured list, 97.3 The Fan San Diego reports.

Suarez has been on the shelf all season with right elbow inflammation, but the reliever reached a major milestone in his recovery Friday, when he threw what Melvin said was a 26- or 27-pitch bullpen session that incorporated his full arsenal. Melvin acknowledged that the right-hander is on a similar buildup progression to a pitcher in the early stages of spring training, so Suarez will presumably need at least two or three weeks' worth of bullpen work, live sessions and minor-league rehab games before he's deemed fit to rejoin the San Diego bullpen. The 32-year-old was a key setup arm for the Padres as a rookie in 2022, making 45 appearances while logging a 2.27 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 61:21 K:BB in 47.2 innings while notching five wins, 12 holds and one save.
