The Diamondbacks will promote Jameson from Triple-A Reno to start Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

The 25-year-old right-hander becomes the latest upper-level pitching prospect to get a trial in the big-league rotation after Tommy Henry and Ryne Nelson both received looks in the second half of the season. Henry has since been moved back to Reno, but Jameson will now receive a look as Arizona temporarily expands to a six-man rotation in a busy portion of the schedule. Though Jameson's numbers at Reno aren't impressive on the surface (6.95 ERA, 1.95 WHIP and 109:42 K:BB over 114 innings), he pitched primarily in hitter-friendly parks in the Pacific Coast League. He's at least done well to keep the free passes in check since the All-Star break (6.4 percent walk rate in 54.1 innings).

Scott was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Wednesday.

Scott was designated for assignment by the Padres on Sunday after being reinstated from the injured list, but he'll land a spot on Philadelphia's 40-man roster. The right-hander posted a 3.76 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 40.2 innings at Triple-A El Paso to begin the year and will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after being claimed off waivers.

Hildenberger (undisclosed) began a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose last week and allowed two earned runs on two hits while striking out one in a one-inning appearance Sunday.

Hildenberger has resided on Double-A Richmond's 60-day injured list all season with an unspecified injury. He initially began a rehab assignment in early August in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, but he was shut down for a month before starting up his assignment at Single-A. He could rejoin the Richmond bullpen over the final couple weeks of the season.

Manaea is scheduled to start Thursday's series opener in Arizona, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Manaea was temporarily the odd man out of the rotation after the Padres condensed to four starters due to a pair of recent off days, but he'll be back on the mound while the Friars are in the midst of a stretch of six games in six days. During his brief exile from the rotation, Manaea made a one-inning relief appearance last weekend against the Dodgers, striking out two while allowing no runs on one hit and no walks.

Underwood walked one in a scoreless ninth inning during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader to record his first save of the season in a 1-0 win over the Reds.

The 28-year-old righty came into the season with zero career saves over 114 appearances in the majors, but Underwood got the call in Tuesday's nightcap as the Pirates continue to mix and match in high-leverage spots. With David Bednar (back) closing in on his return, however, Underwood likely won't get another save chance. His 4.41 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 43:22 K:BB through 49 innings on the year don't make a strong case for one, either.

Melancon allowed one hit and two walks while striking out one over a scoreless ninth inning in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers.

Melancon retired the first two batters before loading the bases on a single and two walks but escaped the jam. It was the eighth consecutive outing that the former closer entered in a non-save situation. Melancon has a 5.56 ERA with three saves, eight strikeouts and eight walks over 11.1 innings (13 appearances) since manager Torey Lovullo moved to a closer-by-committee in early August. Ian Kennedy had solidified the role for a spell, but he's had issues of late (32.40 ERA last three outings), which prompted the manager to describe his closer situation as "fluid."

Junis (4-6) took the loss during Tuesday's 5-1 defeat to Atlanta, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts in five innings.

Junis was spotted a lead in the first inning but Atlanta got to him soon thereafter, plating four runs on six baserunners combined in the second and third innings. The 29-year-old fired 60 of 92 pitches for strikes with nine of the swinging variety while allowing more than three runs for the second time in four turns. During the stretch, Junis has pitched to a 6.41 ERA while recording 16 strikeouts in 19.2 innings -- amassing an 0-3 record. He carries a 4.15 ERA into his next start, currently projected for early next week in Colorado.

Hader saved Tuesday's 2-0 win against the Mariners, allowing one hit while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

It took 24 pitches, but Hader was able to protect a two-run lead while recording three strikeouts in an outing for the first time with San Diego. All four batters the 28-year-old faced reached two-ball counts, though he was still able to make it three straight outings without issuing a free pass. Hader has surrendered one run over his last five appearances while converting all three save chances.

Robertson picked up the save Tuesday in Miami, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning of a 2-1 win.

Robertson made quick work of the heart of Miami's lineup, getting a flyout and two groundouts to end the game. It was his 20th save of the season and sixth since joining the Phillies. He's recorded saves in consecutive games but Philadelphia will likely continue to spread the save chances around its corps of relievers down the stretch.

Abbott did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over three innings in a 4-3 loss against the Orioles. He struck out three.

Abbott got the start Tuesday but could not capitalize as he needed 72 pitches to get through three innings, surrendering two runs in the process. He has been much more effective working out of the bullpen this season, posting a 2.00 ERA over nine innings in relief compared to a 5.19 ERA through 26 innings in six starts. He owns a 4.37 ERA and 1.31 WHIP through 35 innings in total this season.
