Cubs' Andrew Kittredge: Picks up first save
Kittredge turned in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.
With Daniel Palencia seemingly unavailable, it was Kittredge who was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth. The veteran right-hander, who was appearing in a third straight game, retired the side on 10 pitches to pick up his first save this season. Since joining the Cubs at the trade deadline, Kittredge has held opponents scoreless in six of his seven appearances to work his way into a high-leverage role. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.76 with a 1.07 WHIP and 42 strikeouts across 38.1 innings between Chicago and Baltimore.

Giants' Erik Miller: MRI on tap
Miller (elbow) felt something during his rehab appearance Friday and is scheduled to undergo an MRI, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Miller appeared to be closing in on his return from the injured list with Friday being the fourth outing of his rehab assignment, but he's instead headed to be re-evaluated. The left-hander has been on the shelf since early July due to an elbow sprain.

Rockies' Ryan Rolison: Returns to minors
The Rockies optioned Rolison to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Rolison pitched a scoreless frame in Saturday's 10-7 win over Arizona but will still end up losing his spot on the 26-man active roster. The left-hander has a 7.41 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 21:18 K:BB over 37.2 innings with Colorado this season.

Cardinals' Roddery Munoz: Sent to Triple-A
The Cardinals optioned Munoz to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Munoz will lose his place on the active roster after giving up three earned runs on two hits and three walks over 1.1 innings of relief in Saturday's 12-8 loss to the Yankees. Anthony Veneziano was called up from Triple-A to round out St. Louis' bullpen.

Cardinals' Anthony Veneziano: Joins big club
The Cardinals recalled Veneziano from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
The left-hander was sent to Memphis after being claimed off waivers by the Cardinals in early August, and he'll now receive a look in the majors. Veneziano made 24 appearances with the Marlins earlier this season and had a 4.71 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB over 21 innings.

Diamondbacks' Casey Kelly: Sent to Triple-A
The Diamondbacks optioned Kelly to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
Kelly was recalled from Triple-A on Wednesday but didn't make any appearances out of the bullpen in the Diamondbacks' ensuing four games. He'll be swapped off the 26-man active roster for right-hander Nabil Crismatt, who was recalled from Reno to start Sunday's game against the Rockies in Colorado.

Diamondbacks' Nabil Crismatt: Called up for Sunday's start
The Diamondbacks selected Crismatt's contract from Triple-A Reno ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Rockies at Coors Field.
The right-hander made five relief appearances for the Dodgers earlier this season and will now make the second start of his MLB career. Crismatt allowed just two earned runs over seven innings with Los Angeles and has a 4.04 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 68:25 K:BB in 19 starts at the Triple-A level.

The Reds recalled Phillips from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Phillips received a brief look with the Reds in late June and will now get another chance in the majors. The right-hander kept the opposition off the board in three of his four relief appearances for Cincinnati but surrendered four earned runs in the other outing and has a 4:4 K:BB overall in five innings.
