  • Cody Poteet RP | BAL

Cody Poteet: Bound for free agency

Poteet elected to free agency Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Poteet has decided to hit the free-agent market rather than accepting the Orioles' outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk. The 31-year-old has missed much of the season with a shoulder injury but recently turned in two scoreless outings at Norfolk.

  • Michael Kopech SP | LAD

Dodgers' Michael Kopech: Back from 60-day IL

The Dodgers activated Kopech (knee) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Kopech had surgery July 1 to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, but he's ready to join the big-league bullpen after making seven rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The righty held an 11.81 ERA and 5:9 K:BB over 5.1 innings in those outings, so the Dodgers are likely to ease Kopech into high-leverage spots.

  • Kevin Kelly RP | TB

Rays' Kevin Kelly: Rejoins MLB bullpen

The Rays recalled Kelly from Triple-A Durham on Monday.

Kelly holds an unsightly 5.93 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through 27.1 innings with the Rays this season. He'll give the club another relief arm for the final month of the campaign.

  • Albert Suarez SP | BAL

Orioles' Albert Suarez: Returns from 60-day IL

The Orioles activated Suarez (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Suarez hasn't pitched in the big leagues since suffering a shoulder strain in his first appearance of the season back on March 28. He made five rehab appearances, registering a 3.55 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 5:6 K:BB across 12.2 innings of work. Now healthy again, Suarez is expected to work as a long-relief option for Baltimore.

  • Trevor Megill RP | MIL

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Bullpen session slated for Thursday

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Megill (elbow) has been playing catch and has a bullpen session scheduled for Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Megill landed on the 15-day injured list last Wednesday with a Grade 1 right flexor strain, but he's aiming for a minimum-length stay on the IL and appears to be tracking toward achieving that goal. The reliever will be eligible for activation Sept. 9. Abner Uribe has been filling in as the Brewers' closer since Megill was placed on the shelf.

  • Giants' Randy Rodriguez: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Giants transferred Rodriguez (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Rodriguez needs Tommy John surgery and is expected to remain out through the end of the 2026 season. The All-Star reliever was electric out of the San Francisco bullpen this season, posting a 1.78 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 67:11 K:BB across 50.2 innings. Rodriguez took over as the Giants' closer following the trade of Camilo Doval to the Yankees in late July, but Ryan Walker looks poised to see most of the save chances for San Francisco in September.

  • Ryan Rolison RP | CHC

Rockies' Ryan Rolison: Rejoins big club

The Rockies recalled Rolison from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Rolison will provide the Rockies with another relief arm in September. The lefty has a 7.41 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 21:18 K:BB over 37.2 innings with Colorado this season.

  • Giants' JT Brubaker: Joins big-league roster

The Giants selected Brubaker's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Brubaker inked a minor-league deal with San Francisco last month following his release from the Yankees. The 31-year-old right-hander pitched in 12 games out of the bullpen for New York this season, logging a 3.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 10:9 K:BB across 16 innings. He'll likely work in relief for the Giants initially, but he could get a look in the rotation at some point in September with injuries having tested the team's starting depth of late.

  • Riley O'Brien RP | STL

Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Shut down from throwing

O'Brien will be shut down from throwing after undergoing an MRI on his sore right shoulder Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

The Cardinals have yet to provide word on the results of the MRI, but a move to the 15-day injured list for O'Brien feels inevitable. O'Brien has been used as a high-leverage reliever for the Cardinals over the last couple months and picked up a pair of saves in August, but now his health status is murky. JoJo Romero is the favorite to close games for the Cardinals in September, with Kyle Leahy also in the mix.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Back in majors

The Brewers recalled Yoho from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Yoho came into the season as one of baseball's top reliever prospects, but his control has deserted him in the majors. He has an 8.22 ERA and 9:5 BB:K in 7.2 innings across three separate stints with the Brewers in 2025. Yoho has been as advertised at Triple-A, however, logging a 1.04 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 55 strikeouts and seven saves in 43.1 innings across 39 appearances. Yoho should work in low-leverage situations as he rejoins Milwaukee, at least initially.
