The Rockies designated Curtiss for assignment Tuesday.

Curtiss joined the Rockies' bullpen in late July and coughed up four runs over 2.1 innings in his three appearances. Chasen Shreve will absorb his roster spot.

The Marlins recalled McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

McCaughan has made three appearances in the majors this season between the Marlins and Guardians, allowing 14 runs over 10.2 innings. All 14 of his outings in the minors this season have been starts, but he'll fill a long-relief role in Miami.

The Diamondbacks transferred Jarvis (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for lefty Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL ahead of his start Tuesday in Cleveland. Jarvis landed on the IL last with a right elbow sprain, and while it's not clear whether he will need surgery, the move to the 60-day IL effectively ends his season.

The Diamondbacks optioned Castellanos to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Castellanos holds a 5.23 ERA and 7:4 K:BB over 10.1 relief innings with Arizona this season. He's been used mostly as a starting pitcher at Reno and could return to that role.

The Royals released Duffey on Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

The right-hander has been at Triple-A Omaha since being designated for assignment in late May, and he's now been released. Duffey allowed five runs with a 10:8 K:BB over nine innings with the Royals and pitched to a 2.35 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB in 23 outings for Omaha.

The Guardians selected Gose's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander will join the big-league roster for the first time since 2022, when he underwent Tommy John surgery late in the season. Gose has pitched well at Triple-A this season with a 3.29 ERA and 55:23 K:BB over 38.1 innings.

Englert (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Englert has been sidelined since July 6 due to inflammation in his throwing elbow but will begin pitching in games Tuesday. The 24-year-old has bounced between the majors and Triple-A Toledo this season, logging a 5.95 ERA and 1.32 WHIP across 19.2 innings with Detroit.

The Giants optioned Bivens to Double-A Richmond on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

He's making room on the active roster for right-hander Hayden Birdsong, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento to start Tuesday's contest versus the Nationals. Bivens has managed a 1.99 ERA and 18:6 K:BB over 22.2 innings with the Giants, although he has served up five home runs.

Suter (shoulder) has begun throwing, MLB.com reports.

Suter, who suffered a partial tear of his teres major muscle July 19, was expected to be shut down from throwing for up to six weeks, but he's way ahead of that schedule. It's unclear when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment.

Martinez walked one and struck out two over a scoreless 10th inning to pick up the save in a 7-6 extra-inning win over Cleveland.

Ryan Thompson was unable to close out the Guardians in the ninth, setting up a chance for Martinez in the extra frame. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo had used Kevin Ginkel and A.J. Puk prior to Thompson, so the manager went with Martinez, who has a 2.01 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 49.1 innings. Thompson has been shaky in three consecutive save chances, which leaves the Diamondbacks' closer situation in flux.
