  • Chris Roycroft RP | ATH

Cardinals' Chris Roycroft: Optioned to Triple-A

The Cardinals optioned Roycroft to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Roycroft threw 36 pitches and allowed three runs over an inning of work Sunday, so he'll be sent out in favor of a fresh relief arm. Ryan Loutos will absorb his roster spot.

  • Rays' Manuel Rodriguez: Sent down to minors

The Rays optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Rodriguez holds a 2.79 ERA in nine relief appearances with the Rays this season, although that's come with a 1.55 WHIP. Richard Lovelady is taking his spot in the bullpen.

  • Ian Hamilton RP | ATL

Yankees' Ian Hamilton: Goes on COVID-19 IL

The Yankees placed Hamilton on the 7-day COVID-19 injured list Monday.

Hamilton should be away for about a week while recovering from the illness. He's been one of the Yankees' better relievers since the beginning of last season but has struggled in May with a 3.68 ERA and 2.05 WHIP over eight appearances.

  • Grant Hartwig RP | MIN

Mets' Grant Hartwig: Optioned to Triple-A

The Mets optioned Hartwig to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

Hartwig's latest stint in the big leagues lasted less than a week, and he allowed four runs (three earned) over 3.2 relief innings. He's clearing out to make room for Tylor Megill's return from the injured list.

  • Yohan Ramirez RP | PIT

Dodgers' Yohan Ramirez: Traded to Dodgers

The Dodgers acquired Ramirez from the Mets on Monday for cash considerations, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Ramirez continues to bounce around, as he'll join his third organization since April following two stints with the Mets and one with the Orioles. He's out of options, so the reliever must join the Dodgers' active roster. He's allowed 11 runs over 14.1 relief innings in the majors this season.

  • Dominic Leone RP | CHW

White Sox's Dominic Leone: Rejoins bullpen

The White Sox activated Leone (back) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Leone wound up needing just a minimum stay on the IL with lower-back tightness and will skip a rehab assignment and go right back into the bullpen. The veteran reliever holds a 6.75 ERA and 14:11 K:BB over 14.2 innings this season.

  • Padres' Logan Gillaspie: Serving as 27th man Monday

The Padres recalled Gillaspie from Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

He will serve as the 27th man for Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta. Gillaspie, 27, struck out the only two batters he faced in his lone appearance with the big club earlier this season.

  • Jackson Stephens: Elects free agency

Stephens elected free agency Sunday after declining an outright assignment by Atlanta, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Stephens did the same thing back in March before re-signing on a minor-league contract, so it's possible that happens again. The reliever has allowed one run over 3.1 innings during his time in the majors this season.

  • Chris Devenski RP | NYM

Rays' Chris Devenski: Building up length

Devenski (knee) threw two innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits while striking out five in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Durham on Sunday.

Sunday's outing marked Devenski's second rehab appearance in three days. Per MLB.com, the Rays plan to bring him back as a long reliever, so it's possible that he makes some additional appearances with Durham to continue to build up his workload. Devenski is expected to return from the 15-day injured list before the end of May.

  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Wins after blown save

Clase (3-1) allowed an unearned run and struck out one batter in one inning of work Sunday against the Twins. He was charged with a blown save but earned the win.

Clase gave up the game-tying run on an error in the ninth inning, but Cleveland walked it off in the bottom half of the frame. It was his first blown save since April 16, and he's now 13 for 16 in save chances this season. He's fired 16.1 straight innings without allowing an earned run, dropping his season ERA to 0.39 with a 24:2 K:BB.
