Weathers did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out five.

Called up for a spot start Sunday, Weathers delivered his first quality start since April 17, as he blanked the Pirates over six innings. However, the Marlins failed to provide any run support in an eventual 3-0 loss, leaving Weathers with a no-decision. The 23-year-old left-hander will finish the year 1-8 with a 6.55 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 43:29 K:BB across 57.2 innings between Miami and San Diego.

King (4-8) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits over four innings in a 5-2 loss against Kansas City. He struck out one.

King had a rough game to end the season, as he had not allowed more than one earned run in his last seven starts dating back to Aug. 24. Solo home runs by Edward Olivares and Dairon Blanco in the fourth inning chased him from the outing after 71 pitches. The right-hander wrapped up the campaign with a 2.75 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 127 strikeouts across 104.2 innings, working both as a starter and reliever. His success switching between either role may afford the team flexibility with his position ahead of 2024.

Avila did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three hits over five scoreless innings in a 2-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out seven.

Avila had a fine start to end the season after working as a reliever in his previous two outings. The right-hander ends the campaign with a 3.22 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 54 strikeouts across 50.1 innings. Notably, his 1.46 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 24.2 innings as a reliever may lead to more chances in that role in 2024.

Suarez pitched to a 7.16 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 17:15 K:BB over 27.2 innings this season.

Suarez stayed in the Cardinals' bullpen after the trade deadline left the pitching staff depleted. He maintained scoreless outings just three times in 13 appearances as a long reliever in his first major-league action since he appeared in six games with the Giants in 2020. Suarez hasn't recorded a save or hold since 2019, and at 31 years old, his major-league future is cloudy.

Helsley allowed two hits and struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds.

Helsley got the job done despite a bit of a shaky outing. While he lost nearly three months to a forearm injury, Helsley was sharp when healthy. He converted 14 of 19 save chances this year but also maintained a 2.45 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 52:17 K:BB across 36.2 innings while working as the Cardinals' primary closer when available.

Nelson (1-0) allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings to earn the win over the Mets on Sunday.

Nelson handled a bulk assignment after Matt Strahm opened the game with a perfect first inning. The only run on Nelson's line was a Tim Locastro solo home run in the third inning. This was Nelson's only appearance in the majors this year, and it's likely the 27-year-old right-hander won't be included in the Phillies' postseason plans.

Campbell allowed a hit and struck out one over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Rangers.

Campbell picked up his first save of his career in the final game of 2023. He allowed four runs over his last 10 innings, concluding the campaign with a 2.83 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB over 28.2 innings while adding two holds and a 4-1 record. Campbell should be able to compete for a bullpen spot in 2024.

Jarvis allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over 2.2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Astros. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Jarvis entered the game in the first inning after Kyle Nelson got off to a rocky start as the opener. Since the start of September, Jarvis allowed three earned runs over 11.2 frames. He registered a solid 3.04 in 23.2 MLB innings this season, mostly as a bullpen arm. The right-handed rookie could compete for a rotation spot with Arizona in 2024.

Finnegan picked up his 28th save of the year in a 10-9 win over Atlanta on Sunday. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out one over an inning.

Finnegan was spotted a two-run lead after the Nationals were able to climb ahead in the top of the ninth. He allowed a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna, and Michael Harris followed up with a double, though Finnegan was able to retire the next two batters to put a cap on the season with a win. The 31-year-old finishes 2023 with a 3.76 ERA and 63:24 K:BB in 69.1 innings and should be the frontrunner to close again for the Nationals next year as long as he isn't traded.

Rogers exited Sunday's game against the Dodgers with lower-back tightness, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The season is over and the Giants aren't in the playoffs, so Rogers will have all offseason to get right. He gave up three earned runs on four hits and zero walks while striking out one before exiting.
