Erik Swanson RP | TOR
Mariners' Erik Swanson: Grabs third win to close out season
Swanson (3-2) earned the victory over the Tigers on Wednesday, firing a perfect ninth inning during which he recorded two strikeouts.
The right-hander put a fitting cap on a highly impressive regular season with a crisp 12-pitch frame during which he got nine of his offerings in for strikes. Swanson logged a career-high 57 appearances in 2022, adding three saves and 14 holds alongside his three wins. Additionally, the 29-year-old mustered a career-best 1.68 ERA and 0.91 WHIP, while his strikeout rate shot up to a blistering 34.0 percent after previously having topped out at 24.3 percent in 2021. Swanson should continue to play a key setup role during the Mariners' postseason run.

Bryan Baker RP | TB
Orioles' Bryan Baker: Notches first career save
Baker struck out two without allowing a baserunner to earn the save in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

He concluded the 2022 season with 11 straight scoreless appearances, during which he maintained a 13:3 K:BB across 12.1 frames. It was Baker's first full season in the majors, and he was a solid contributor out of Baltimore's bullpen by posting a 3.49 ERA while also tallying nine holds.

Orioles' Mike Baumann: Allows 10 baserunners
Baumann allowed four earned runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four across 5.1 innings in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.
Baumann allowed three hits and a run in the second inning, but the majority of the damage against him came on a three-run homer by Gabriel Moreno in the sixth frame. Hernandez did not factor in the decision against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out three batters over four innings.
Hernandez was called up from the minors -- where he spent half of August and all of September -- to start Miami's regular-season finale, and the right-hander's disappointing outing was reflective of his overall campaign. Hernandez was expected to be a steady contributor at the back end of the the Marlins' rotation this year but struggled to a 6.35 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 3-6 record over 20 games (10 starts). He's yet to reach 83 major-league innings through five big-league campaigns.
