  • Shaun Anderson RP | LAA

Angels' Shaun Anderson: Lands on IL with shoulder injury

The Angels placed Anderson on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right shoulder inflammation.

The injury may have cropped during his last appearance Sunday, when he allowed six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two in one inning of relief against the Marlins. A minimum stint on the IL would have Anderson back in action in late August, though he'll undergo more tests on his throwing shoulder to help shape a recovery timeline. The Angels selected Sammy Peralta's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

  • Ben Peoples RP | TEX

Rangers' Ben Peoples: Back with Rangers

The Rangers recalled Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Peoples was just optioned this past weekend, but he's back to grab the roster spot vacated by the injured Nathan Eovaldi (elbow). The righty reliever has permitted three runs with a 6:3 K:BB over 12.1 frames during his time with the Rangers this season.

  • Kade Strowd RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kade Strowd: Sent down to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Strowd to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Arizona called Strowd up from Triple-A on Friday, but he didn't end up pitching out of the bullpen during the team's weekend series against the Dodgers. He'll head back down to Triple-A, where he's submitted a 6.63 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over 36.2 innings. In a corresponding move, Arizona reinstated Michael Soroka (glute) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday against Colorado.

  • Seth Halvorsen RP | LAD

Dodgers' Seth Halvorsen: Joins big-league bullpen

The Dodgers recalled Halvorsen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Acquired from the Rockies in a trade last month, Halvorsen logged 6.1 scoreless innings with an 8:2 K:BB with Oklahoma City to earn a promotion. He holds a 4.91 ERA and 53:36 K:BB over 58.2 frames in the majors across the last two seasons, but Halvorsen has a big arm and the Dodgers will aim to coax more consistency out of him.

  • Bryse Wilson RP | MIL

    Bryse Wilson: Hits free-agent market

Wilson elected to become a free agent Monday, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.

He passed through waivers after being removed from the Brewers' 40-man roster, but Wilson has opted to test out free agency rather than accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Nashville. The swingman has made a total of nine appearances between three different teams in the majors this season, allowing 11 runs with an 18:2 K:BB over 23.1 frames.

  • Easton McGee RP | KC

Royals' Easton McGee: Optioned to Omaha

The Royals optioned McGee to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

His spot on the roster will be absorbed by veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel. McGee was rocked for six runs in a two-inning relief appearance Sunday versus the Cubs.

  • Cam Sanders RP | BAL

Orioles' Cam Sanders: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The Orioles recalled Sanders from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Sanders made two scoreless appearances for the Orioles in July and is back for another go-round with the big club. The 29-year-old will fill a middle-relief role.

  • Mets' Jonathan Pintaro: Moves up from Triple-A

The Mets recalled Pintaro from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

Pintaro has collected a 4.40 ERA and 15:5 K:BB over 14.1 innings in a long-relief role for the Mets this season. He's likely to be used mostly in lower-leverage spots during his upcoming stint with the big club.

  • Chase Shugart RP | PHI

Phillies' Chase Shugart: Summoned to big leagues

The Phillies recalled Shugart from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

He'll rejoin the Philadelphia bullpen as a replacement for Caleb Kilian (oblique), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Shugart has previously had two stints in the majors this season, posting a collective 4.93 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB in 38.1 innings. The right-hander is likely to work in a middle-relief role for Philadelphia.

  • Devin Williams RP | NYM

Mets' Devin Williams: Lands on IL with shoulder strain

The Mets placed Williams on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right shoulder strain.

Williams missed time recently with what was described as right arm fatigue, and now he's shelved with a strained shoulder. The Mets are optimistic that Williams will be in line for a relatively brief absence, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The only player on the Mets' active roster other than Williams to record a save this season is Daniel Duarte, who picked up his second career save last week when Williams was unavailable. Duarte could be the next man up to close for the Mets, but Kodai Senga is also a candidate.
