Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Secures 16th save
Megill earned the save in Thursday' 8-7 win over the Cubs, allowing one walk with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.
Megill was summoned to protect a one-run lead in the ninth and worked around a leadoff walk to close things out on 16 pitches. The 31-year-old has now converted nine saves in his past 10 appearances, with the lone exception being a blown save June 7. On the season, he's 16-for-18 in save chances with a 2.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

Grant Holman RP | PHI
Athletics' Grant Holman: Option rescinded, placed on IL
The Athletics voided Holman's optional assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday and placed him on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Monday) with rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder.
The A's originally optioned Holman to Triple-A on Monday after he had posted a 5.09 ERA in 23 innings with the major-league club. However, the team uncovered a shoulder injury Thursday and will keep him around to rehab with the big-league squad. He'll be eligible to return from the IL beginning July 1, though he may still be sent down to the minors whenever he's fully healthy.

Anthony Maldonado RP | HOU
Athletics' Anthony Maldonado: Back with big club
The Athletics recalled Maldonado from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.
Maldonado was relegated to the minors at the end of May after giving up eight earned runs over six innings. Since then, he's allowed just two runs in 6.1 frames with the Aviators -- good enough to earn another chance in the Athletics' bullpen. Osvaldo Bido was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Secures 14th save
Helsley earned the save in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.
Helsley was called upon to protect a 5-4 lead in the ninth and needed just 10 pitches to secure his first save since May 31. It was an encouraging outing for the 30-year-old, who had blown three straight save chances and allowed a run in each of his previous four June appearances. On the season, he's 14-for-19 in save opportunities with a 3.81 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 31:12 K:BB across 26 innings.

Tyler Holton RP | DET
Tigers' Tyler Holton: Will open second game Thursday
Holton will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Pirates, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Keider Montero is likely to absorb the bulk of the innings out of the bullpen. It will be the fourth opener assignment this season for Holton, who has allowed two runs with a 5:0 K:BB over four innings in his first three tries.

Dedniel Nunez SP | NYM
Mets' Dedniel Nunez: Back in big leagues
The Mets recalled Nunez from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Nunez was one of the Mets' best relievers down the stretch last season when healthy, posting a 2.31 ERA and 48:8 K:BB over 35 innings in 2024. However, he has struggled to replicate it this year after overcoming an arm issue, particularly from a control perspective, with a combined 17 walks in 22.2 frames between Syracuse and the majors.

Ty Adcock RP | SD
Mets' Ty Adcock: Back in Syracuse
The Mets optioned Adcock to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Adcock made two appearances during his four-day stint in the big leagues, giving up one run and striking out five batters across 2.2 innings. Justin Hagenman and Dedniel Nunez will come up from Syracuse to replace Adcock and the injured Max Kranick (elbow).

Justin Hagenman SP | NYM
Mets' Justin Hagenman: Moves up from Triple-A
The Mets recalled Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
Hagenman is expected to pitch in Friday's game versus the Phillies, either as a traditional starter or in a bulk-relief role. However, he will be available to pitch Thursday, if needed. The righty struck out four while yielding one run over 3.1 innings out of the bullpen for the Mets back in April in his major-league debut.
-
Max Kranick RP | NYM
Mets' Max Kranick: Shelved with elbow injury
The Mets placed Kranick on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a right elbow strain.
Kranick has been a strong middle-relief option for the Mets this season, turning in a 3.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 37 innings out of the bullpen. However, he'll be unavailable for the remainder of the month while he tends to his injured elbow. With the Mets also sending Ty Adcock back to Triple-A Syracuse, New York called up Justin Hagenman and Dedniel Nunez from the minors to fill the two open spots on the pitching staff.

Janson Junk RP | MIA
Marlins' Janson Junk: Entering rotation Friday
Junk is listed as the Marlins' starting pitcher for Friday's game versus Atlanta at LoanDepot Park, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Junk will be making his first start in the big leagues since 2023 when he enters the rotation this weekend as a replacement for Max Meyer (hip). The Marlins deployed Junk in bulk relief the last time Meyer's turn in the rotation came up last weekend in Washington, with the right-hander providing 5.2 scoreless innings en route to claiming a win. Meyer is without a clear timeline for a return, so with a strong showing Friday, Junk will likely be in store for additional starts.
