Sean Guenther RP | DET
Tigers' Sean Guenther: Drawing opener assignment
Guenther will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Guenther will draw his first MLB start Monday, though he hasn't covered more than two innings in any of his nine appearances between the big club and the minors this season and is unlikely to work deep into the contest. Keider Montero is slated to cover the bulk of the innings out of the bullpen once Guenther exits the game.

Jordan Weems RP | LAD
Jordan Weems: Cut loose by Atlanta
Atlanta released Weems on Monday.
Inked to a minor-league pact over the winter, Weems posted a 5.09 ERA and 18:10 K:BB over 17.2 innings out of the bullpen at Triple-A Gwinnett. The 32-year-old last saw action in the majors in 2024, when he collected a 6.70 ERA across 40 appearances for the Nationals.

Anthony Banda RP | MIN
Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Takes loss in relief
Banda (3-1) took the loss against the Angels on Sunday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two batters over two innings.
Banda entered with the Angels up by three runs in the seventh inning and tossed a 1-2-3 frame. The Dodgers tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the inning, but Banda couldn't hold the lead, giving up a solo homer to Travis d'Arnaud in the eighth. That was the only run the lefty reliever surrendered, but it was enough to hand him his first defeat of the campaign. Banda was a bit of a revelation for the Dodgers last year, but he's been less effective this season with a 4.37 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 22.2 innings. He's held the opponent scoreless in 16 of his 22 outings but has given up multiple runs in five of his other six trips to the mound.

Kevin Ginkel RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Kevin Ginkel: Earns hold
Ginkel struck out two over a scoreless eighth inning to earn a hold in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Rockies.
Ginkel set down the side in order on 11 pitches (seven strikes) to hold a scant Diamondbacks lead for fill-in closer Shelby Miller. It was the second straight hold recorded by Ginkel, who has five over 10 outings. More importantly, he has four consecutive scoreless appearance following a disastrous meltdown against the Dodgers on May 9, when he was tagged with a loss and a blown save after allowing five runs and four hits over a third of an inning.

Luke Jackson RP | SEA
Rangers' Luke Jackson: Retakes mound Sunday
Jackson (hand) issued a walk and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.
Jackson battled a swollen hand throughout the week after being hit by a comebacker May 12 against the Rockies, but he returned to the mound Sunday in a non-save situation. The right-hander didn't appear to have any lingering issues as he threw 10 of 15 pitches for strikes, and his average fastball velocity of 93.6 mph was only marginally lower than his season average. Shawn Armstrong picked up a pair of saves in his absence, but Jackson should reclaim primary closing duties now that he's healthy.

Ryan Rolison RP | CHC
Rockies' Ryan Rolison: Strong start to big-league career
Rolison threw 2.1 scoreless innings while allowing one hit Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Rolison was called up May 11 to make his big-league debut and has since made three appearances out of the bullpen. He has only one strikeout across four innings, though he also has yet to allow an earned run. Rolison is pitching multiple innings in low-leverage spots, and he has the potential to be stretched out as a starter at some point this season.

Hector Neris RP | HOU
Angels' Hector Neris: Dealing with finger blister
Neris suffered a right finger blister during his appearance against the Dodgers on Saturday and was held out of Sunday's series finale due to the issue, per MLB.com.
The blister may help explain Neris' rough outing Saturday -- he gave up three runs on two walks and a hit while uncorking a wild pitch without retiring any batters. This doesn't appear to be a serious injury for the veteran reliever, but the Angels probably will opt to hold him out until the blister is healed enough to no longer affect his throwing. Neris joined the Angels on a minor-league deal in mid-April and had tossed five straight scoreless outings before his blow-up Saturday.

Brusdar Graterol RP | LAD
Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Aiming for rehab stint in August
Graterol (shoulder) has resumed throwing and is hoping to go on a minor-league rehab assignment sometime in August, per MLB.com.
Graterol underwent right shoulder labrum surgery last November and only recently resumed throwing. The fireballing reliever still has a lengthy rehab ahead of him, but if he's able to participate in minor-league games in August, as hoped, he could join the Dodgers' bullpen for the final month of the regular season. That would set Graterol up to be a factor for Los Angeles during the postseason, where he has so far thrived -- through 24.1 career playoff innings, the right-hander holds a 1.85 ERA and 0.86 WHIP.

Randy Rodriguez RP | SF
Giants' Randy Rodriguez: Earns third win Sunday
Rodriguez (3-0) picked up the win with a perfect inning in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Athletics.
Rodriguez threw seven of his 11 pitches for strikes, retiring the side in order during the eighth inning. The right-hander has posted seven consecutive scoreless outings, allowing just three hits with an 11:2 K:BB, two wins and a hold over seven innings in that span. Rodriguez leads all Giants pitchers with a 0.92 ERA and has recorded a 0.71 WHIP, 27:2 BB:K and three holds across 19.2 innings in 19 appearances this season.

Bryan Hoeing RP | SD
Padres' Bryan Hoeing: Struggles again in rehab outing
Hoeing (shoulder) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out one batter in one inning for the ACL Padres in a minor-league rehab outing Saturday.
This was Hoeing's second rehab appearance, and through 1.1 frames he's surrendered six runs (five earned). Nonetheless, the right-hander appears to be working his way back to the big-league bullpen after beginning the season on the IL due to a right shoulder strain. Given the rust Hoeing has shown so far and the fact that he went a week between his first two rehab outings, he'll likely need to make multiple additional minor-league appearances before he is reinstated from the injured list, which could happen in early June.
