McClanahan (8-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Cubs. He struck out seven.

In his 12th start of the season, McClanahan took his first loss despite allowing just two runs. McClanahan has been on a tear to start the season, allowing more than two runs just once all year, earning a 2.07 ERA, and 1.15 WHIP to pair with a 10.6 K/9. On top of leading MLB in wins, McClanahan boasts the third-lowest ERA, fourth-most quality starts and fifth-most strikeouts among starters.

Maeda (triceps) threw two scoreless innings Tuesday with four strikeouts and a walk for Triple-A St. Paul during a rehab outing. He's set to make another rehab appearance Sunday with St. Paul, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Maeda will likely need several rehab starts before he's ready to be considered for Minnesota's rotation. The 35-year-old right-hander posted a 9.00 ERA across his first four starts (16 innings) this season before going on the injured list in late April due to a right triceps strain.

Sears allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

Sears was able to limit the damage to a Kevin Pillar solo home run in the third inning. After throwing just 59 pitches in his last outing, Sears was back up to 90 pitches (59 strikes) Tuesday. He's allowed just four runs over his last 22.1 innings spanning four starts, but he remains in search of his first win of the campaign. The southpaw has a 4.37 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 54:11 K:BB over 59.2 innings through 11 starts this season. Sears is projected to make his next start on the road in Pittsburgh.

Greinke did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two hits and one walk over five scoreless innings against the Cardinals. He struck out six.

Though Greinke held the Cardinals to just two hits and no runs over 5.0 innings of work, he was outshined by Miles Mikolas, who tossed eight scoreless innings and struck out 10. Greinke has quietly put together an impressive May, earning a 2.30 ERA with a 25:3 K/BB over six starts (31.1 innings). Though his recent form has been promising, the veteran's fantasy upside remains capped by his inability to pitch deep into games, as he hasn't gone more than six innings all season.

Kikuchi (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings in a 7-2 victory over the Brewers. He struck out four.

The southpaw had trouble finding the plate consistently, tossing only 55 of 98 pitches for strikes and issuing a season-high five free passes, but aside from a first-inning homer by William Contreras, he was able to come away unscathed. Kikuchi also continues to have trouble keeping the ball in the park -- he's served up seven home runs in his last four starts, and 15 in 56.1 innings on the season. He'll take a 4.47 ERA and 52:19 K:BB into his next outing, likely to come this weekend on the road against the Mets.

Quantrill (2-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing eight runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out three.

After posting three consecutive quality starts to start the month, Quantrill has now allowed 17 runs over his last three starts (14 innings). The 28-year-old right-hander's ERA is up to 5.61 with a 1.42 WHIP and 34:20 K:BB across 59.1 innings this season. With Triston McKenzie (shoulder) and Aaron Civale (oblique) nearing returns and rookies Tanner Bibee and Logan Allen both pitching at a high level, Quantrill's spot in the Guardians' rotation may be in jeopardy.

Gibson (7-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings against Cleveland. He struck out three.

Gibson has now won three consecutive starts, allowing four runs over 19.2 innings in that span. The 35-year-old righty sports a 3.89 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 47:23 K:BB through seven starts (41.2 innings) this season. Gibson will look to extend his winning streak in his next outing, tentatively lined up for next week in Milwaukee.

Faedo (1-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.1 innings in a 10-6 loss against the Rangers. He struck out four.

It was a tough outing for Faedo after he punched out 10 over six innings in his previous outing against the White Sox. His ERA is now up to 5.54 despite a solid 0.92 WHIP and 26:2 K:BB across his first five starts (26 innings). It won't get much easier for Faedo in his next outing -- he's tentatively lined up to face the Phillies on the road.

Perez did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against Detroit. He struck out three.

It's the second time this year that Perez has failed to make it through five innings. The 32-year-old southpaw has struggled in May, pitching to a 6.91 ERA through five starts. On the season, Perez is 6-1 with a 4.43 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 44:20 K:BB across 61innings. Perez will look to right the ship in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against the Cardinals.

The Guardians will activate Civale (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Friday to have him start against the Twins, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Civale has been out since early April with a left oblique strain but is now ready to rejoin the rotation after building back up over the course of three rehab starts. The 27-year-old righty looked sharp in his two starts prior to suffering the oblique injury, but he posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB in 11 frames across his three rehab outings.
