Hankins is dealing with an unspecified elbow injury and will visit with team doctors, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The nature and severity of Hankins' injury should become clear following his examination. The 20-year-old owns a career 2.71 ERA in 63 professional innings, none of which have come above Low-A.

Watson (elbow) is listed on High-A Quad Cities' Opening Day roster.

Watson underwent Tommy John surgery in May of 2019, and with no minor-league play last year, this is his first chance to get back in action. His last full season was 2018, when he split time between High-A Wilmington and Low-A Lexington, posting a combined 5.24 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 125.1 innings (24 starts).

Manoah will start the season at Triple-A Buffalo, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The 2019 No. 11 overall pick has only made six professional starts, all of which came at the short-season level. He clearly impressed the Blue Jays at the alternate site last year and during spring training this season, so the team believes he's already prepared to handle the highest level of the minors. The 23-year-old's proximity to the majors seemingly indicates that he'll be in consideration for his big-league debut at some point this year.

Gonzales was placed on the injured list with a mild forearm strain Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners haven't offered a precise timeline for Gonzales' return, but he's expected to miss at least a couple starts, which seemingly means he'll be out for longer than the minimum 10 days. Domingo Tapia was recalled in a corresponding move.

The Rays recalled McClanahan from their alternate site ahead of his start Thursday against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 24-year-old will be making his MLB regular-season debut Thursday, but the Rays already got a glimpse of McClanahan during their run to the World Series in 2020, when he made four appearances out of the bullpen. He'll now get the chance to stake his claim to a rotation spot if he can turn in a quality outing Thursday against an Athletics squad that recently rattled off 13 straight wins. Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that McClanahan will be deployed in a traditional starting role while he's up with the big club, and the young lefty said that he'll be built up to cover about 4-to-5 innings against Oakland, per Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE.

Dunn allowed three runs on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.

Dunn's only troublesome innings were the second and the sixth. He walked Kyle Tucker to begin the second and wound up surrendering two base hits that scored two runs in the frame. Dunn was one out away from making it through the sixth when Yuli Gurriel doubled and abruptly ended his night there. Casey Sadler came on in relief and allowed Gurriel to score, sticking Dunn with his third run of the night. The 25-year-old has yet to finish six innings in any of his first four outings, and he'll carry a 3.98 ERA into a start against the Orioles next week.

Glasnow (3-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the A's, giving up five hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings while striking out 10.

It was another dominant performance for the 27-year-old right-hander, who threw 67 of 97 pitches for strikes while fanning double-digit batters for the third time in his last four starts. Glasnow will take a sparkling 1.67 ERA and 56:11 K:BB through 37.2 innings into his next start.

Irvin (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings as the A's were blanked 2-0 by the Rays. He struck out eight.

The southpaw set a new season high in strikeouts while delivering his second quality start, but it went to waste as Oakland's bats fell silent. Irvin continues to pitch well enough to hang onto a rotation spot, and he'll take a 3.67 ERA and 25:4 K:BB through 27 innings into his next outing.

Matz (4-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Blue Jays fell 8-2 to the Nationals, coughing up six runs on eight hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

While the southpaw wasn't hit especially hard -- only one of the eight hits, a Josh Harrison homer, went for extra bases -- it was still his worst start of the year so far. He threw 54 of 80 pitches for strikes and doubled the number of earned runs on his ledger. Matz will carry a 4.00 ERA and 27:9 K:BB through 27 innings into his next outing.

Whitlock allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over two scoreless innings in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Mets.

Whitlock delivered his sixth scoreless outing in as many appearances, holding New York off the scoreboard in the sixth and seventh innings to earn his third hold. He's quickly become a key piece of the Red Sox's bullpen, which is tied for sixth in MLB with a 3.07 ERA.
