Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Set to throw simulated game
Odorizzi (hamstring) will throw a simulated game Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
If Odorizzi's upcoming workout goes as planned, he'll be on track to return to action Monday. Prior to being placed on the disabled list, Odorizzi had pitched 13 innings over three games, during which he allowed six runs. He's struggled with the long ball in the early stages of the season, as he's given up three home runs over said games.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Scuffling to begin season at Triple-A
Giolito, 22, has a 6.43 ERA and 16:9 K:BB through 14 innings for Triple-A Charlotte.
Giolito was a surprise inclusion in the deal for Adam Eaton, but perhaps the Nationals knew something that the rest of us did not. Giolito had a poor spring and has been unable to turn it around thus far. Walks continue to plague him, and he's already given up three home runs in three starts this season. The strikeouts are still there, but Giolito still has plenty of kinks to work out before he can return to the big leagues.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Tuesday's game postponed
Severino won't pitch Tuesday night against the Red Sox as the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Ryan Hannable of WEEI 93.7 FM reports.
To make up for Tuesday's postponement, the Yankees and Red Sox will play a doubleheader on July 16. Unless the Yankees opt to alter their rotation in the coming days, Severino's next scheduled start will be Sunday against the Orioles.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Loses in quality start
Perez (1-3) allowed three runs on six hits while walking three and striking out three over six innings in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Twins.
The left-hander dropped his season ERA to 3.81 in the 96-pitch outing, and he now sports a 19:15 K:BB in 26 innings of work. While Perez's strikeouts are up a bit after five starts, his lack of control makes him a fantasy headache. He's a risky streaming option in deep mixed formats, especially when he takes the hill at his hitter-friendly home ballpark.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Plays catch Monday
Rodon (biceps) played catch Monday afternoon while White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper looked on, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Rodon, who's in town for a routine check up with the team's medical staff, looked fine playing catch according to Cooper but neither he nor manager Rick Renteria offered any more details.

Vicente Campos SP | PIT
Angels' Vicente Campos: Reinstated from disabled list, optioned to Triple-A
Campos (arm) was reinstated from his rehab assignment and optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Campos underwent surgery for a broken arm last September, which made the nerve issues he suffered in training camp particularly concerning. He was shaky in his rehab appearances at High-A Inland Empire, allowing three runs over just 1.2 innings, but the fact that he has been able to pitch without pain is most important at this point. The Angels will let him continue to find his footing at Triple-A, and he could be a rotation candidate later in the season.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Set for simulated innings Friday
Odorizzi (hamstring) is scheduled to throw four innings in a simulated game Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Odorizzi is nearing a return to the Rays after tossing a 36-pitch bullpen Saturday without any issues. He'll get up and down four times in his next session to simulate a game, and if all goes well, it's looking like he could return to the lineup for next Monday's matchup against the Marlins.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Rangers' Yu Darvish: Fans eight batters, gets second win
Darvish improved to 2-2 on the season after giving up two runs on five hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out eight in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Royals.
Darvish surrendered a pair of homers in the third inning, but he otherwise kept the Royals bats at bay, retiring 17 batters via strikeout or groundout. While Darvish is still averaging less than a strikeout per inning for the first time in his career, he's throwing with more velocity than he has in any of his previous four seasons, so there's reason to be optimistic that he'll induce more whiffs before long.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Downs Angels in second complete game
Stroman (2-2) pitched a complete game Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out five in a victory over the Angels.
Following a shaky start, an argument with home-plate umpire Ramon De Jesus over an illegal quick-pitch ruling seemed to motivate Stroman. The fiery right-hander was angered when the umpire awarded first base to Kole Calhoun in the third inning because the hurler threw a 3-1 pitch before the batter was deemed ready. Toronto manager John Gibbons was ejected for arguing the call, and the Angels scored on back-to-back singles immediately afterward. Stroman took a few deep breaths and responded by keeping the Halos off base for the next five innings while retiring 17 consecutive hitters. The 25-year-old has now banked complete games in two of his last three starts. Despite a rather unlucky .320 BABIP, Stroman owns a great 3.10 ERA and 3.03 FIP through four starts. He'll next toe the rubber Friday against the Rays.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Saddled with loss Sunday
Montgomery (1-1) took a loss Sunday, pitching six innings with five strikeouts while allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks against the Pirates.
It wasn't a terrible outing by the young lefty, but the offense provided just one run of support to saddle him with his first career loss. It was the first of Montgomery's three starts in which he didn't allow a home run, and the 92 pitches he threw represent his biggest workload in the majors this far. Though he's had little experience in the upper levels of the minors, the 24-year-old has held his own early on and will look to get back in the win column his next time out, Saturday against the Orioles.
