  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi: Rebounds against Red Sox with strong eight innings Saturday

Eovaldi (2-2) gave up six hits and two earned runs over eight innings in Saturday's 8-2 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out six.

After getting knocked around for 10 hits and six earned runs by the Red Sox last Sunday, Eovaldi managed to bounce back with one of his best outings of the season. It was the hard-throwing righty's longest stint on the mound in 2016, and his 107 pitches were the most he's thrown on the season as well. The performance was an encouraging development for the 26-year-old, who had progressively improved with each start this season before the aforementioned meltdown against Boston. He'll try to keep the momentum going against the Royals and Ian Kennedy next Thursday.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Athletics' Rich Hill: Turns in fourth straight solid start in Saturday victory

Hill surrendered two hits, an earned run and three walks over 5.2 innings in Saturday's 8-4 victory over the Orioles. He struck out five.

The veteran southpaw was solid for the fourth straight start, despite once again displaying shaky control. Hill has flirted with trouble over the last two trips to the mound by issuing seven free passes over the last 11.2 innings. However, he's been able to limit the damage in both outings, and has allowed only four earned runs over the last four starts. The 36-year-old's recent string of success has netted a 2.39 season ERA over 37.2 innings, and he'll attempt to keep the momentum going next Wednesday in Fenway versus the Red Sox.

  • Tommy Milone SP | SEA

Twins' Tommy Milone: Outrighted to Triple-A

Milone was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Dustin Morse of Twins.com reports.

Milone passed through waivers unclaimed, and he'll now join Triple-A Rochester following a slow start for the Twins. The left-hander posted a 5.79 ERA across five starts, but could work his way back to the big league club later in the season.

  • Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI

Twins' Ricky Nolasco: Knocked around for seven runs against White Sox on Friday

Nolasco (1-1) surrendered nine hits, seven runs (five earned) and two walks over five innings in a 10-4 loss to the White Sox. He struck out six.

The veteran righty gave up a home run for the third straight game, a third-inning solo shot to Jose Abreu. Nolasco has given up 17 hits and 12 runs (10 earned) over his last two starts and hasn't been able to get out of the sixth inning in either. That trend is a sharp contrast to his first four trips to the mound this season, when the 33-year-old gave up just 10 earned runs over 27.2 innings. He'll try to get back on track against the Orioles next Wednesday.

  • Astros' Lance McCullers: Saturday's start could mark final tuneup

McCullers (shoulder) will make what could be his final rehab start Saturday for Triple-A Fresno, the Houston Chronicle's Jake Kaplan reports.

Depending on how he feels after Saturday's outing, McCullers could rejoin the Astros rotation next week, meaning his owners in weekly leagues could be faced with the tough decision of whether or not to deploy him for a matchup in Boston. The Astros could really use McCullers with the presumed staff ace, Dallas Keuchel, recording a 5.11 ERA through six starts. The next step for McCullers should be announced later this weekend.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Expected to make next start

Walker (neck spasms) is expected to be fine for his next start on May 11 against the Rays, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.

He only lasted two innings Friday, giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits with zero strikeouts before exiting. Johns says Walker is expected to be fine, but it's also worth noting that James Paxton tossed a stellar outing Friday for Triple-A Tacoma, allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven over seven innings, so he would figure to be the fill-in if Walker can't go on May 11.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Successful rehab stint

Darvish (elbow) threw for three strikeouts over 3.0 innings in Friday's rehab stint with Triple-A Round Rock, allowing two hits and one walk.

Friday's rehab stint went accordingly, further affirming the 29-year-old's original mid-May timetable for return. Considering things are progressing nicely, Darvish's ownership rates should balloon appropriately, especially since he's registered at least 182 strikeouts and 10 wins over his previous three years in MLB.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Dominates early in no-decision against Dodgers

Stroman allowed two runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out eight over seven innings, but was left with a no-decision in the Jays' 5-2 win over the Dodgers on Friday night.

Stroman (4-0) was masterful through six innings, mixing in a variety of crisp breaking pitches with his moving fastball, before tiring a bit and allowing a pair of runs in the seventh inning. He hasn't lost a game since September, 2014 (he made just four starts last year) and has flashed glimpses of the potential he offers early this season despite a seemingly pedestrian 3.60 ERA. It should be noted that the struggling Toronto bullpen has allowed eight inherited Stroman runners to come around and score, significantly inflating his ERA. He'll face off against the Giants in San Francisco next time out.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Quiets Tigers' big bats

Hamels spun seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out nine in the Rangers 5-1 win over Detroit on Friday night.

Hamels (4-0) had to work hard, needing 113 pitches (73 for strikes), but was never really challenged as he handcuffed the generally potent Tigers' lineup. The ace of the Texas staff has been suffering through a slight groin strain which could be contributing to a bit of a decline in command of the strike zone, but he is pitching through it, and doing it well. He'll take on the White Sox in Arlington next time out.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Leaves Friday's game early

Walker left Friday's matchup with the Astros after two innings of work due to neck spasms on his left side.

Walker gave up two hits, both for home runs, prior to exiting Friday's contest. It is unclear the severity of the neck spasms, but it was enough to knock him out of the contest. Walker's next projected start is Wednesday against the Rays. Consider him day-do-day until there is an update on his status.
