Chris Sale officially placed on disabled list
The White Sox announced Tuesday starting pitcher Chris Sale was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a flexor muscle strain in his left arm. The move is retroactive to April 18.
On Monday, general manager Rick Hahn said he doesn't expect Sale's injury to linger beyond his minimum stint on the disabled list.
"We’re going to do everything in our power to protect him for the long term," Hahn said, per The Chicago Tribune. "This is about making sure we get out in front of any issues and make sure he is in the best position to have success and stay healthy for an extended career as opposed to worrying about a start or two here and there."
