Jason Hammel SP | TEX
Jason Hammel sick at home
Orioles starter Jason Hammel remained at home with an illness Saturday as Baltimore hosted the Red Sox at Camden Yards, the Baltimore Sun reports. Hammel expects to be back with the team Sunday.
That said, Hammel is a slight question to make his next start Monday at Detroit. The team is optimistic, however. Hammel has gone 7-4 this season with a 5.24 ERA. He is 0-2 in June over three outings with an even uglier 6.32 ERA.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Dropping Kevin Gausman not automatic
Orioles pitching prospect Kevin Gausman is in the minors now. That's an indisputable fact. But how long he'll be there is a matter of debate.
The Baltimore Sun says it won't be long, suggesting that the only reason the Orioles sent him down was to get an extra bullpen arm following a 13-inning marathon Thursday. With Miguel Gonzalez expected to go on paternity leave soon, the Orioles could override the 10-day window normally required for a player sent to the minors and bring back Gausman for his next turn.
In other words, if you picked up Gausman as much for his upside as what he's doing in the here and now, don't use this demotion as an excuse to drop him.
Now, if you want to drop him because three of his five starts have been awful and the other two merely OK, that's a different story. And in some cases -- ones where Dan Straily, Rick Porcello or Jarrod Parker were available -- I'd be right there with you.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Yu Darvish Ks 9 in no-decision
Rangers starter Yu Darvish turned in another solid performance without factoring in the decision Thursday night against the Blue Jays.
Darvish allowed a run-scoring single to Melky Cabrera in the third for his only damage of the night. The right-hander yielded one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine in seven innings of work in a 3-1 loss.
Darvish has settled for a no-decision in his last four starts. He has allowed seven runs combined over that span (28 2/3 innings). He is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday at home against the A's. He has allowed just one run or fewer in each of his last three starts at home.
