Morton (7-6) earned the win Sunday over the Reds, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven in five innings.

Morton wasn't at his best Sunday, but it was enough to get the job done. He's completed at least five innings in six of his last seven starts, but he's gotten through six frames just once in that span. The 39-year-old is at a 3.81 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 100:39 K:BB through 85 innings across 15 starts this season. His 4.1 BB/9 is his highest since 2016, but he's managed to put up steady numbers anyway. Morton is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Marlins.

Carrasco did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over four innings against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Carrasco has allowed at least one home run in nine of his 10 starts this year and sports an ugly 6.19 ERA. The right-hander has also failed to complete five frames in three straight starts, posting a horrendous 10:8 K:BB across 11.2 innings during that stretch. Despite his struggles, Carrasco's spot in the Mets rotation remains secure while Jose Quintana (ribs) is sidelined, but that doesn't mean he needs to be rostered in standard fantasy leagues.

Wheeler did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 7-6 victory over the Mets. He struck out eight.

After allowing just one run over his past three starts (19.1 innings), Wheeler fell flat Sunday and served up five runs to his former team, his second-highest mark of the season. On a positive note, the right-hander somewhat salvaged his fantasy production by notching at least eight strikeouts for the fifth time this year. Overall, Wheeler holds a solid 3.76 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with a stellar 106:22 K:BB through 16 appearances (93.1 innings). His next start is lined up for a home matchup against the Nationals.

Stripling (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

The right-hander will return from the injured list earlier than expected while Luke Jackson (back) replaces him on the shelf. Stripling made his last rehab start Thursday in the lower minors and struck out 10 while giving up two runs over four innings. The 33-year-old could be reinserted into San Francisco's rotation during the upcoming three-game set in Toronto that begins Tuesday, as Sean Manaea has pitched just one frame in each of his past two outings.

Peterson will be recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to start Tuesday against the Brewers, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The left-hander has an 8.08 ERA in eight starts for the Mets this year and was demoted from the big-league rotation in mid-May. Peterson has an unremarkable 4.86 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 43:23 K:BB across 37 innings for Syracuse this season, but he'll receive another look in the majors since New York requires a fifth starter this week.

Waldron was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribunereports.

The 26-year-old made his major-league debut Saturday against Washington and took the loss after he allowed two runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 4.2 innings. Waldron will return to the Triple-A rotation, where he has a 7.02 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 75:24 K:BB across 66.2 frames this season.

Liberatore did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four unearned runs on four hits and two walks over 2.1 innings against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Liberatore was tagged for four runs in the first, but none of them were earned due to two errors from the Cardinals defense. The left-hander was pulled in the third inning at 56 pitches (33 strikes) in favor of Jake Woodford, who earned the win. Liberatore has started six of his seven MLB appearances this season, but Sunday's outing was by far his shortest as a starter, as he completed at least four innings in each of his other starts. The 23-year-old's spot in the rotation remains secure moving forward, especially if Jack Flaherty (hip) has to miss extended time, but Liberatore figures to have a short leash during his outings, with Woodford and Steven Matz available as long-relief options out of the bullpen.

Kauffmann was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The 25-year-old gave up a run over three frames in Saturday's blowout loss to the Angels and was the only Rockies pitcher to surrender fewer than six runs, but he'll still lose his spot on the active roster. Kauffmann has been ineffective in his first taste of the big leagues this year with a 10.19 ERA, 2.04 WHIP and 8:10 K:BB across 17.2 innings.

Stripling (back) could return from the injured list earlier than expected, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Stripling landed on the injured list May 19 with a low-back strain, though an MRI revealed no structural damage. The Giants didn't formally announce a recovery timeline then, but it seems he could be back in the big-league rotation as soon as this week. He's covered 10 innings over three rehab appearances, allowing seven runs (five earned) with 16 strikeouts and one walk. Once Stripling returns, the Giants will likely have less need for regular bullpen days.

Stoudt was recalled from Triple-A Louisville ahead of his start against Atlanta on Sunday.

The 25-year-old has given up eight earned runs across seven frames in his two starts for the Reds this year, but he'll receive another chance Sunday after Ben Lively (pectoral) landed on the injured list. Stoudt covered just 1.2 innings during his last start for Louisville and isn't fully built up after dealing with a rib injury, per Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, so Cincinnati also promoted reliever Randy Wynne for bullpen depth.
