Buehler (elbow) had a bone spur removed from his right elbow Monday, which won't affect his recovery timeline from the flexor strain, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old was already shut down from throwing for 6-to-8 weeks after being diagnosed with the flexor strain over the weekend, so it was an opportune time to remove the bone spur he's been dealing with across the past couple years. Buehler is still hoping to pitch again this season, but it's not guaranteed given that he won't begin even playing catch until at least late July.

Liberatore (2-1) picked up the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pirates, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out five.

The rookie southpaw tossed 51 of 79 pitches for strikes before exiting as he held the opposition without a run for the second time in four big-league starts. Liberatore has also walked multiple batters in all four of those starts, and his 15:10 K:BB through 18 innings is far from dominant, but so far he's held his own, posting a 4.00 ERA. With Jack Flaherty (shoulder) set to make his season debut Wednesday, someone will lose their spot in the St. Louis rotation, but Liberatore seems as though he's done enough to stick around ahead of Zack Thompson.

Brubaker (0-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Pirates fell 3-1 to the Cardinals in the first game of a doubleheader, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

It was a solid outing for the right-hander, but a lack of run support and three errors by Diego Castillo ensured he would remain without a win on the season. Brubaker exited after 106 pitches (71 strikes), and over his last five starts he's put together a respectable 3.21 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB through 28 innings.

Lopez (wrist) won't start Wednesday as originally hoped but he could rejoin the rotation this weekend in New York, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He suffered a wrist contusion in his most recent start. Manager Don Mattingly said Lopez's bullpen Monday didn't go as the Marlins would have hoped, so they are trying to figure out who will start Wednesday in his place. Mattingly made it seem in a video interview that Lopez would probably be pushed back a day or two, but given Lopez's injury history, the team will use an abundance of caution, so a start this weekend isn't guaranteed.

The Dodgers optioned Grove to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Los Angeles called up Grove from Triple-A on Saturday in case a long reliever was needed in the final two games of the team's series with the Giants, but the right-hander ultimately wasn't needed out of the bullpen. The Dodgers still intend to develop Grove as a starter, so he'll head back to Triple-A to make regular turns through Oklahoma City's rotation. Reyes Moronta was called up to replace Grove in the bullpen.

Strasburg, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, is dealing with a stress reaction of the ribs, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Strasburg experience renewed discomfort following his between-starts bullpen session last week and now we have an official diagnosis. Thoracic outlet syndrome is notoriously tough to make a full recovery from, and Strasburg could end up being a cautionary tale. He is without a timetable to return.

Woodruff (Raynaud's syndrome) was able to throw a few breaking balls during a 40-pitch bullpen session in New York on Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

He said it was "a big step" to be able to throw all of his pitches, as the offspeed pitches had been the ones he had struggled with due to the hand numbness associated with Raynaud's syndrome. Woodruff said he has been on medicine for about a week and that he has noticed daily improvement with how he has been able to grip the ball, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Woodruff also added that warm weather helps, so things could keep trending up from here.

DeGrom (shoulder) will progress to an "up-and-down" bullpen session Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Following Tuesday's 30-pitch bullpen session, deGrom said "everything feels good" and that "hopefully" it won't be too much longer before he is able to return to game action. This was his fourth bullpen session since beginning mound work and the up-and-down session will be a little closer to recreating a game environment.

Manager Oliver Marmol said that Matz recently received another injection Monday in his troublesome left shoulder, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

He hasn't pitched since throwing four pitches against the Pirates on May 22 and MRIs have shown no structural damage. The fact that Matz has had multiple injections -- the first one came May 23 -- in his shoulder is not a great sign, but it sounds like the Cardinals and Matz are doing everything possible to try to get him past this issue. He threw off flat ground Sunday.

The Brewers transferred Peralta (lat) on Tuesday from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL.

The transaction ensures that Peralta will be sidelined through the All-Star break, a development that was expected after Will Sammon of The Athletic reported earlier Tuesday that the right-hander recently resumed working out in Arizona but is still a month away from being ready to rejoin the Brewers' active roster. With Peralta being removed from the 40-man roster as a result of the move to the 60-day IL, the Brewers had a spot for right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez, who was claimed off waivers from the Twins.
