  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Hurt by homers in loss

Teheran (10-9) was charged with the loss against the Phillies on Thursday, lasting just four innings while surrendering five runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Despite coming into Thursday's contest with a solid road WHIP (1.23), Teheran struggled to piece together a strong performance at Citizens Bank Park, largely due to long ball woes. The right-hander served up a solo home run to Cesar Hernandez in the first inning, a two-run shot to Adam Haseley in the second and a two-run homer to Jean Segura in the third. Meanwhile, Teheran's lone strikeout tied a season low. Luckily, he'll get a chance for revenge with a rematch against Drew Smyly and the Phillies on Wednesday.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Bags 12th win

Corbin (12-7) got the win against the Twins on Thursday, giving up three earned runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out three, and walking none as the Nationals prevailed 12-6.

Corbin kept on rolling against Minnesota, tossing his seventh quality start in his last eight outings and nabbing his 12th win of the season. He's having a stellar campaign for the Nationals, posting a 3.20 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 213:60 K:BB across 185.2 innings. The left-hander will look to keep it going in his next start, which will come on the road against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Phillies' Drew Smyly: Fans six in no-decision

Smyly did not factor into the decision during Thursday's win over the Braves, lasting just four innings while allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts.

Smyly was mostly hurt by the long ball, serving up a two-run home run to Ozzie Albies in the first inning, then giving up another two-run shot to Adam Duvall in the fourth. The southpaw was facing the Braves for the first time this season and facing Albies for the first time in his career. Despite the brief outing, Smyly managed to record six punchouts, three of which came in the first frame. The slumping 30-year-old will take a 4.14 ERA and 1.29 WHIP into a rematch with Julio Teheran and the Braves during his next start on Wednesday.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Suffers MCL strain

Hill has been diagnosed with a left MCL strain, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Hill was making his first start since returning from a strained forearm, and he could be headed right back to the IL after suffering a left MCL strain in the first inning against Baltimore. The veteran suffered the exact same injury in spring training, and it sidelined him until the end of April. His status for the remainder of the regular season and the postseason is in jeopardy at this point.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Strikes out 14

Darvish (6-6) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out 14 across six scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Padres.

Darvish showed off electric stuff in six shutout frames, generating 23 called strikes and 19 swinging strikes to stymie the Padres bats. He allowed only one extra-base hit -- a triple to lead off the sixth inning -- accounting for one of only two runners he allowed to reach scoring position. Darvish has now allowed zero or one earned run in four of his last five starts, lowering his ERA below 4.00 for the first time this season. He's scheduled to make his next start Tuesday against Cincinnati.

  • Tim Melville SP | BAL

Rockies' Tim Melville: Hit hard by Cardinals

Melville (2-2) allowed five earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one across three innings to take the loss Thursday against the Cardinals.

Melville was sunk by the long ball, as he surrendered four home runs in his three innings of work. While he's now gotten hit hard at home in each of his last two outings -- he's allowed 10 earned runs in five innings -- Melville has pitched very well on the road, yielding just three earned runs across 12.2 frames. However, his next scheduled start is currently Tuesday at home against the Mets.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Mets' Marcus Stroman: Yields one run in victory

Stroman (8-13) allowed one run on four hits with four walks and six strikeouts across 6.1 innings while earning a victory against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Allowing four walks is obviously not ideal, but Stroman did bounce back in terms of giving up hard contact Thursday. In his last two starts, he had allowed 17 hits, including two homers, in 10 innings. This victory also gave Stroman his first win since Aug. 15. He is 8-13 with a 3.35 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 142 strikeouts in 166.2 innings with the Blue Jays and Mets this season. Stroman is scheduled to pitch next at the Rockies on Tuesday.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Earns ninth win

Mikolas (9-13) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings to earn the win Thursday against the Rockies.

Mikolas stumbled out of the gate, allowing one earned run in each of his first three innings. However, he recovered to turn in two scoreless frames to close out his appearance, recording his fourth consecutive start of allowing three earned runs or fewer. While he hasn't prevented runs at the same rate of the 2018 season, Mikolas has turned in a respectable 4.28 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 136 strikeouts across 30 starts. His next outing is currently scheduled for Tuesday against the Nationals.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Cruises to 10th win

Musgrove (10-12) picked up the win after giving up four hits while striking out seven over five scoreless innings Thursday against the Giants.

Musgrove allowed just four batters to reach base on the day, and he was pulled after five strong innings with 72 pitches (50 strikes). The right-hander has now earned back-to-back victories, allowing three runs while fanning 12 over 11 innings of work. He'll head into his next start with a 4.52 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with a 143:35 K:BB over 59.1 frames this season.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Leaves with knee issue

Hill was pulled after two-thirds of an inning Thursday against the Orioles due to a left knee injury, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Hill was activated from the injured list ahead of Thursday's start after missing time with a forearm injury, though he's now nursing a knee issue. The Dodgers have yet to reveal the severity of the injury.
