  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Could be starting option in October

Urias will work on building endurance during the remainder of his 20-game suspension in order to potentially start games in October, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Urias was suspended for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy on Saturday, though he was credited for the five games he previously served while on administrative leave. The 23-year-old has started six games and functioned as a long reliever for the Dodgers this season, though he has not thrown more than 61 pitches in an outing since April 18.

  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Returning in September as reliever

Stripling (biceps) will return on Sept. 1 as a reliever, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

It was already assumed that Stripling would be a reliever upon his activation, and the Dodgers will wait until rosters expand to make that move official.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Optioned to Triple-A

Peralta was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio on Sunday.

He gave up four earned runs without recording an out in Saturday's marathon game against the Nationals, and the righty has given up 10 runs while walking 10 in just four August innings. Peralta will rejoin the bullpen when rosters expand in September.

  • Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Recalled ahead of Sunday's start

Gonsolin was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his start Sunday in Atlanta, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

With Dustin May moving the bullpen in an effort to manage his workload and prepare him for that role in the postseason, Gonsolin will make at least one more start after Sunday's outing, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. He has a mid-90s fastball that has touched triple digits in shorter outings, and his last big-league start was an Aug. 5 gem against the Cardinals.

  • Jordan Lyles RP | KC

Brewers' Jordan Lyles: Hit hard in no-decision

Lyles didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 15-14 extra-innings win over the Nationals, giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings while striking out four.

Juan Soto and Adam Eaton both took the right-hander deep, and he needed 83 pitches (52 strikes) to record just 12 outs -- a fitting beginning to a wild 14-inning affair that wrecked ratios on both staffs. Lyles will take a 4.96 ERA and 108:44 K:BB through 103.1 innings into his next outing Friday, at home against Arizona.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Wins major-league debut

Webb (1-0) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

A two-run first inning was the only blemish on Webb's ledger, as he settled in nicely for the rest of the appearance. He tossed 54 of his 93 pitches for strikes. The right-hander may not be up with the Giants for long, as they have a five-game week ahead and may choose to roll with four starters.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Hurt by homers in third loss

Ryu (12-3) struck out five and took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 4-3 loss to Atlanta on Saturday.

Solo homers by Josh Donaldson and Adam Duvall in the sixth inning helped chase the southpaw from the game and stick him with his first loss since the All-Star break. Incredibly, it's only the second time all year Ryu has given up more than two earned runs, with the other such outing coming June 28 at Coors Field, and that was also the last time he served up a home run or failed to complete six innings. The 32-year-old will carry a 1.64 ERA and 126:18 K:BB through 148.1 innings into his next start Friday, at home against the Yankees.

  • Seth Lugo SP | KC

Mets' Seth Lugo: Nabs third save

Lugo struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his third save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Royals.

After coughing up six runs over 2.1 innings in his prior two appearances, Lugo bounced back in strong fashion. All three of his saves have come since July 26, but Edwin Diaz also has three saves in that time despite his own struggles, and the Mets' closing picture remains somewhat fuzzy.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Mets' Jacob deGrom: Stifles Royals for eighth win

DeGrom (8-7) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out five in a 4-1 victory over the Royals.

The right-hander retired the first 10 batters he faced en route to his 18th quality start of the season, and deGrom hasn't given up more than three runs in a start since May 17. He'll carry a 2.61 ERA and 194:38 K:BB through 155 innings into his next outing Friday, at home against Atlanta.

  • Rockies' German Marquez: Notches eight strikeouts

Marquez (12-5) struck out eight while allowing two runs off five hits and one walk over five innings to earn the win Saturday against the Marlins.

The 24-year-old gave up a leadoff home run to Jon Berti in the first inning but managed to turn things around thereafter. Marquez owns a 171:33 K:BB with a 1.19 WHIP over the season. The right-hander should line up next on the road Thursday against the Cardinals.
