Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Settles for no-decision
Soroka allowed one run on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts across seven innings during a no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday.
It wasn't a great day for the K/BB ratio, but Soroka still pitched plenty well enough to win. Although the Braves still captured the victory, the bullpen gave up three runs and left Soroka with a no-decision. Still, the rookie is 10-2 with a 2.37 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 114 innings this season. Soroka will look for his 11th win at the Twins on Monday.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Exits with cramps
Marquez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to "full body cramping," Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Marquez cramped up after throwing a warmup pitch prior to the seventh inning and ultimately had to be helped off the field. The right-hander was locked in prior to suffering the injury, fanning 10 batters while allowing just two hits and no walks across six scoreless innings. It's unclear if Marquez will be forced to miss a start due to the issue.

Rockies' German Marquez: Suffers apparent leg injury
Marquez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent leg injury, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Marquez appeared to twist his ankle while throwing a warmup pitch prior to the seventh inning and had to be helped off the field. The right-hander was dominant prior to suffering the injury, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out 10 across six scoreless innings.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Traded to Arizona
Gallen was traded from the Marlins to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday for Jazz Chisholm, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
This deal came out of nowhere, with the Marlins dealing from their underrated starting pitching depth for a high-upside shortstop prospect. Gallen gets a downgrade in his home ballpark, and will now have to pitch in Coors Field and against the Dodgers more than he would have with Miami. However, at least he stays in the National League and is on a more competitive ball club. Gallen has a 2.72 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 36.1 innings (seven starts) in the big leagues.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Struggles in spot start
Urias took a no-decision after giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 2.2 innings in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Rockies.
Entering the rotation in place of the injured Ross Stripling (biceps), Urias was limited to just 61 pitches after having previously worked out of the bullpen for the past month. While the overall results weren't impressive, Urias at least avoided a total implosion at Coors Field, which couldn't be said for his counterpart, Kyle Freeland (eight runs allowed in 3.2 innings). Unless the Dodgers bolster their rotation depth ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline, Urias should pick up another start Sunday in Padres. Expect some sort of restriction to be in place, however, as the Dodgers are cognizant of managing Urias' workload carefully after he missed most of the 2017 and 2018 seasons while recovering from shoulder surgery.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Staying in Queens
The Mets have pulled Syndergaard's name out of trade discussions prior to Wednesday's deadline and plan to retain him for the rest of the season, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Syndergaard and Zack Wheeler were both thought to be available in the hours leading up to the deadline, but the Mets are apparently only listening to offers on the latter at this time. The Mets' decision to allow Syndergaard to work into the eighth inning of his start in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the White Sox hinted that no deal was really close to materializing. New York could still re-engage with teams in trade talks revolving around Syndergaard later in the winter. The 26-year-old right-hander is under club control through the 2021 season.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Shuttled back to minors
Gonsolin was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Gonsolin is unavailable to pitch for a few days after recording a four-inning save against the Rockies on Tuesday, so the Dodgers opted to send him back to the minors to free up a roster spot for Dylan Floro (neck), who was activated from the injured list. The right-hander's solid outing Tuesday -- he allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out three -- should earn him another look with the big club down the stretch.

Mason Denaburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Mason Denaburg: Struggling in GCL
Denaburg has a 6.27 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 18:13 K:BB through 18.2 innings for the GCL Nationals.
The 19-year-old is taking his lumps in his first taste of the pros, walking multiple batters in five of his six appearances and coughing up 11 runs in his last three. Denaburg got a late start to the season due to biceps soreness, which could be playing into his control issues, but this is still a disappointing performance from the 27th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Unless he can tighten things up to close out the season, expect his prospect status to take a big hit over the winter.

Braxton Garrett RP | CHC
Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Thriving in Florida State League
Garrett has a 2.29 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB through 39.1 innings over his last seven starts for High-A Jupiter.
Coming into the season, the 21-year-old had barely pitched since being drafted seventh overall in the 2017 draft due to Tommy John surgery, but Garrett has justified the selection with an impressive showing in the Florida State League. A promotion to get his feet wet in Double-A isn't out of the question depending on how much the Marlins want to limit his workload -- he's already thrown 90.1 innings this year -- but even if Garrett finishes out the campaign at Jupiter, the southpaw appears on track to push for a spot in the big-league rotation by 2021 at the latest.
