Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Takes tough loss Wednesday
Eickhoff (0-1) gave up two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six over 6.2 innings in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Reds.
He traded goose eggs with Brandon Finnegan for six innings before Joey Votto deposited a mistake into the right-field seats to lead off the bottom of the seventh, sticking Eickhoff with a tough-luck loss to begin the season. A 1.4 HR/9 was the main blemish on the 26-year-old's stat line in 2016, and at least on Wednesday it didn't seem to be a flaw he's found a way to correct. Eickhoff's next start will come Monday at home against the Mets.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Unrewarded for scoreless season debut
DeGrom held the Braves scoreless over six innings Wednesday, striking out six while allowing just two hits and a walk, but he didn't receive a decision in an eventual 12-inning loss.
It took deGrom until his age-26 season to break into the big leagues, but he's been nothing short of terrific since then. However, he's coming off the worst of his three MLB campaigns, as his 3.04 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 8.7 K/9 were all career worsts. Of course, if that's the worst of deGrom, his fantasy owners will be thrilled. He's an upper-crust starter, and it's quite possible that we haven't seen his best seasons yet.

Mauricio Cabrera SP | ATL
Braves' Mauricio Cabrera: To throw bullpen session Monday
Cabrera (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Monday and likely won't need a long rehab stint, 680 The Fan's Kevin McAlpin reports.
He has played catch twice without issue and it sounds like a rehab assignment could be right around the corner. If everything goes as planned, he should be back pitching in the later innings out of the Braves' bullpen before the end of April. If Jim Johnson struggles or gets traded at some point this season, Cabrera would be a logical choice to get some high-leverage work.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Moves to 60-day DL
DeSclafani (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday.
With DeSclafani tabbed to miss the first month of the season at the minimum, the Reds opted to move him off the 40-man roster to make room for recently acquired outfielder Tyler Goeddel. It's unclear if this move will impact DeSclafani's return date, but things should become clearer on that front as he progresses in his rehab program.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Moves up for Saturday start
Glasnow is scheduled to take the hill Saturday against the Braves, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
The top prospect was initially scheduled to start Sunday's tilt, but he'll instead make his season debut a day earlier and bump Gerrit Cole's second start of the week to Sunday. This doesn't affect things much now since both are still tabbed to start during the current week, but it could impact things further down the line if they continue to maintain this order in the rotation.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Slated for Sunday start
Cole is now scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Braves, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
There was some speculation that the Pirates' ace would get the ball Saturday in order to keep him on a regular five-day schedule, but the Pirates have opted instead to give Tyler Glasnow his first start of the season on that day. This bumps Cole to Sunday, which thankfully keeps him on tap for a two-start week.

Lance Lynn SP | STL
Cardinals' Lance Lynn: Wednesday's start postponed
Lynn (ribs) will not start Wednesday as the game against the Cubs has been postponed until Thursday.
It's likely that Lynn's season debut will simply be moved back to Thursday. The veteran right-hander will be making his first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2015. He posted strong numbers over five starts this spring, compiling a 1.20 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 15 total innings.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Lasts just four innings in first start of 2017
Corbin gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a pair of walks over four innings in Tuesday's loss to the Giants. He struck out only a single batter.
Once one of the more promising arms around, Corbin's seen his career derailed by Tommy John surgery, and he really hasn't come all the way back yet. Last season's 5.15 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 155.2 innings speak volumes about how badly the lefty struggled, and he's off to a similarly poor start this year. Poor control and hittability were huge issues for him last season, so it's disturbing that he showed both off in his first start of the new campaign.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Opens with ugly win
Cueto (1-0) picked up the win in his season debut Tuesday despite allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over just five innings. He struck out five.
Fortunately for Cueto, the Giants jumped all over Arizona's questionable pitching, obscuring the fact that he struggled through his five frames, throwing 94 pitches. Of course, Cueto's a perennially reliable -- and often underpriced -- fantasy starter, so there's no reason to worry over the results of his first start of the year.
