Snelling will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair the UCL in his left elbow, Craig Mish of FanDuel Sports Network Florida reports.

It's not a surprising development after Snelling was diagnosed with a sprained UCL last week and moved from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL earlier Thursday. With it being a full Tommy John repair rather than an internal brace procedure, Snelling will likely be out until at least the second half of the 2027 season, and he might not be seen in the big leagues until 2028.

Atlanta transferred Waldrep (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Maverick Handley. It does not alter Waldrep's timetable, as he is recovering from elbow surgery and not expected to be an option for Atlanta until late June at the earliest.

Senga (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Senga has been throwing at the Mets' spring training complex in Florida and is ready to test things out in a game setting. The 33-year-old right-hander posted a 9.00 ERA in his first five starts before landing on the 15-day injured list in late April with lumbar spine inflammation, so the Mets will want Senga to look crisp in addition to feeling healthy before they consider re-inserting him into the big-league rotation.

The Marlins transferred Snelling (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Snelling is set to meet with Dr. Keith Meister on Thursday to determine whether surgery is necessary to repair the sprained UCL in his left elbow. The young southpaw is facing an extended absence regardless of whether he needs to go under the knife, so the Marlins will stash him away on the 60-day IL. The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Rece Hinds, who was acquired in a trade with the Reds on Thursday.

The Astros optioned Murray to Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, reports Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

The 29-year-old will be replaced by Alimber Santa on Houston's 26-man active roster. Murray struggled in his most recent appearance Monday against Minnesota, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks. He has given up at least two earned runs in four of his seven appearances with Houston this season.

The Reds acquired McCambley from the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for Rece Hinds, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

McCambley was a Rule 5 pick of the Phillies over the offseason but was returned to the Marlins. He's now on the move again and will give the Reds bullpen depth at Triple-A Louisville. McCambley has collected a 2.36 ERA and 32:17 K:BB across 26.2 frames this season at Triple-A Jacksonville.

Henry (elbow) has posted an 8.18 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 7:4 BB:K in 11 innings through three starts with Triple-A Reno since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list May 7.

Henry didn't make any appearances in the majors or minors after June 10 last season after undergoing what was reported as a traditional Tommy John surgery on his left elbow. Given the timing of the surgery, Henry had been expected to be on the shelf for most of the 2026 campaign, but Jack Sommers of SI.com relayed April 21 that the previous report was erroneous, and the southpaw had actually opted for an internal brace procedure on his elbow. The procedure ended up shaving considerable time off of Henry's rehab program, as he was able to begin pitching in rehab games in the lower levels of the minors by mid-April, about 10 months after he went under the knife. Though he made a speedy return from the elbow operation, Henry has struggled to regain command and control since joining the Reno rotation and is unlikely to be a factor at the big-league level anytime soon.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Thursday that Verlander (hip) is "inching forward more than sprinting forward" with his rehab, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Verlander completed a four-inning, 62-pitch simulated game Wednesday and is slated to face hitters again next week after doing some throwing this weekend. Hinch noted that the veteran hurler has taken "no steps back" but added that Verlander is not yet ready to face major-league hitters. It seems the 43-year-old could still be at least a couple weeks away from rejoining the Tigers' rotation. Verlander is working his way back from left hip inflammation.

Skubal (elbow) threw a successful 35-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

It's at least the third time he's thrown from the mound since he had surgery just over two weeks ago to remove a loose body from his elbow. Skubal upped the intensity of his throwing Thursday and was able to reach the velocity goal he set prior to the session. The two-time Cy Young winner continues to make rapid progress and should be cleared to face hitters soon.

Jones (elbow) will head to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday to make the fifth start of his rehab assignment, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

After making his last two appearances with Double-A Altoona, Jones will move back to Indianapolis this weekend for what the Pirates are hoping is the final rehab outing he'll require before coming off the 60-day injured list. The 24-year-old threw 67 pitches over 4.1 innings during his most recent outing for Altoona on Sunday and should continue building up his workload during his upcoming start with Indianapolis. Assuming the Pirates are comfortable with how Jones' surgically repaired elbow responds following Saturday's start, he could be cleared to make his 2026 debut with the big club as soon as May 28 versus the Cubs or May 29 versus the Twins, both of which would come in Pittsburgh.
