Rasmussen (1-3) yielded three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings Tuesday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Phillies.

Rasmussen was not very effective Tuesday, but all the damage against him came during the second inning. He gave up a solo shot to Kyle Schwarber followed by Alec Bohm's two-run homer. Rasmussen completed at least five innings in each of his first six starts but has yet to finish six frames in any outing this year. Despite some recent shakiness (10 earned runs over his last 14.1 innings), he still owns a 3.09 ERA with a 32:9 K:BB through 35 innings. Rasmussen is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Brewers this weekend.

Wheeler (3-1) allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings Tuesday, striking out nine and earning a win against the Rays.

Wheeler was impressive as usual Tuesday. He threw three shutout frames before Yandy Diaz tagged him with a two-run shot in the fourth inning. Wheeler turned in his fourth consecutive quality start and has produced six in eight outings this season. He forced 16 whiffs on 84 pitches, including nine with his fastball. Wheeler dropped his ERA to 3.35 with a terrific 66:9 K:BB across 51 innings. He's currently in line to start in Cleveland this weekend.

Schmidt did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's win over San Diego. He yielded two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings while striking out four.

Schmidt tossed three scoreless frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth inning. He was scratched from his scheduled outing Saturday against the Rays but came back Tuesday to deliver his first quality start of the season. Schmidt threw 53 of 85 pitches for strikes and generated seven whiffs, tying a season low. His ERA dropped to 4.79 alongside a 19:10 K:BB through 20.2 innings. Schmidt's next start will likely be on the road against the Athletics or Mariners.

King did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings while striking out two.

The only damage against King came in the fourth inning when he served up a solo shot to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Jasson Dominguez. King tied season lows with just two punchouts and five whiffs. He completed six innings for the first time since firing a complete game against the Rockies on April 13 and was in line for the victory before San Diego's bullpen gave up 10 runs in the seventh inning. King is sporting an impressive 2.22 ERA with a 48:14 K:BB through eight starts. He's currently in line to face the Angels at home next week.

Povich (1-3) took the loss against Minnesota on Tuesday, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out four over six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Povich faced the minimum number of batters through the first two innings, but he got roughed up for five runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run homer by Carlos Correa. Povich went on to retire the next the next nine batters he faced and finished with 10 whiffs on 103 pitches (63 strikes), but he couldn't avoid the loss as the Twins' offense was limited to one run. It's the second time the 25-year-old southpaw has given up at least five runs in a start this season, and he's up to a 5.55 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 29:12 over 35.2 innings. Povich is slated to start against the Angels on the road this weekend.

Wright (shoulder/hamstring) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings in his rehab start Friday with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Wright made his first appearance in affiliated ball since 2023, as he spent all of last season recovering from right shoulder surgery and then sustained a minor hamstring strain in spring training. Given the time he's missed, Wright could need close to the full 30-day rehab window before the Royals bring him back from the 15-day injured list, though he handled a fairly hefty workload (60 pitches) in his first start. He's scheduled to make his second minor-league start Wednesday.

Lord will move back to the bullpen after starting the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports. The right-hander was the pitcher of record in the Nationals' 9-1 loss to the Guardians in Game 2, dropping to 1-4 after allowing three earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings.

With Michael Soroka (biceps) due to return from the injured list Wednesday, Lord will be squeezed out of the rotation and will shift to a relief role. After taking the loss Tuesday despite delivering a quality start, the 25-year-old righty has a 4.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB across 28.1 innings over nine appearances (six starts). He'll likely be first in line to join the rotation the next time an opening emerges.

Lopez (3-2) picked up the win against the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out 11 over five innings.

Lopez set the tone in the first inning by striking out the side, which he also did in the third and fifth. His lone blemish came in the fourth frame, when he yielded an RBI double to Ryan Mountcastle. Lopez finished his outing with 18 whiffs on 98 pitches (58 strikes), and his 11 punchouts were his most since June 23, 2024 against the Athletics (14). He has three quality starts this season with a 2.18 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB across 33 innings, and he is lined up to face the Giants at home this weekend.

Soroka (biceps) will be activated from the injured list and start Wednesday against the Guardians, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Manager Dave Martinez said Soroka will claim the fifth spot in the Nationals' rotation upon returning, which will force Brad Lord to move back to the bullpen. Soroka has been on the injured list since early April after suffering a biceps strain during his first start of the season. He has since made three rehab starts in the minors, most recently striking out 11 batters across five innings of one-run ball at Triple-A Rochester.

Double-A Northwest Arkansas placed Zobac on its 7-day injured list April 16 due to right knee patella tendinitis, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Zobac was shut down after laboring through his first two starts of the season with Northwest Arkansas, producing a 9.39 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB across 7.2 innings. According to Preston Farr of FarmToFountains.com, Zobac won't require surgery on his knee, but the 24-year-old righty is facing an uncertain timeline for a return.
