Brown pitched four scoreless innings in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals, issuing just two walks while striking out nine.

Brown was nearly untouchable Sunday as he struck out nine of the 11 batters he faced. So far this spring, Brown's allowed just one run over 8.2 innings while racking up 14 strikeouts. The right-hander, who's already been announced as the Astros' Opening Day starter, is expected to anchor Houston's rotation in 2026 after pitching to a 2.43 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and 206 strikeouts in 31 starts (185.1 innings) last season.

Cantillo allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four over 4.2 innings in Sunday's spring start against the Rockies.

Cantillo was at his most efficient in his fourth Cactus League outing, as the young left-hander submitted his best effort in a quest for a spot in the Guardians rotation. Prior to Sunday's appearances, Cantillo had allowed nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. There's time left for two or three more starts for Cantillo, who is competing with two other lefties, Parker Messick and Logan Allen, and right-hander Slade Cecconi.

The Red Sox optioned Bennett to minor-league camp Monday.

Bennett had drawn positive buzz during his first spring training with the Red Sox after coming over in a trade with the Nationals over the winter, but the 25-year-old lefty never appeared likely to break camp with the big club. After Bennett turned in a 2.56 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB in 45.2 innings at Double-A Harrisburg upon being promoted following the All-Star break, the Red Sox could have him open the upcoming season in the Triple-A Worcester rotation.

Atlanta hopes to know the results of an MRI on Wentz's right knee Monday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Wentz sustained an injury to his knee during Grapefruit League play Sunday versus the Rays following a collision near first base. The initial prognosis pointed to him avoiding a serious injury, but more will be known once the imaging results are in. Wentz is competing for a spot in Atlanta's rotation.

Singer allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three over three scoreless innings in Sunday's spring start against the Diamondbacks.

Singer had better results in his second Cactus League start but needed 58 pitches (33 strikes, four swing-and-misses) to get those nine outs. The results were better than his spring debut, when Singer was tagged for five runs and seven hits, but the right-hander had a similar issue with balls landing outside the zone. He managed to escape a pair of jams in the first and second innings before retiring the side in order in the third frame.

Weathers allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out three batters over two innings in a Grapefruit League outing against the Mets on Sunday.

Weathers breezed through a scoreless first inning during which he retired the side in order. However, the southpaw got only one out in his second frame, allowing three runs before being pulled. Under spring training rules, Weathers re-entered the contest in the third inning and gave up three more runs (one was unearned) while retiring just two batters. Weathers was great in his previous Grapefruit League appearance, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings with five punchouts, and he's expected to open the regular season in the Yankees' starting rotation.

Pallette (shoulder) made his Cactus League debut Tuesday and has struck out five while allowing three hits and one walk over two scoreless innings between two appearances.

Pallette's spring debut was delayed while he contended with right forearm fatigue earlier in camp, but his bid for the Guardians' Opening Day roster won't be derailed. The Guardians selected Pallette in the Rule 5 Draft over the winter, so he'll need to remain on the 26-man active roster or a reserve list throughout the season, or else Cleveland will have to offer him back to the White Sox.

The Brewers optioned Crow to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Crow will likely be in line for a full-time stay in the Nashville rotation in 2026 after he made all but two of his starts last season at Double-A Biloxi, with whom he submitted a 2.51 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 52:8 K:BB in 43 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster over the winter, but he's buried on the organizational starting pitching depth chart and is unlikely to be in store for an extended stay in Milwaukee at any point during the upcoming season.

The Rockies optioned Hughes to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Hughes was added to the Rockies' 40-man roster in November but won't be in the majors for Opening Day. The right-hander split most of last season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels, finishing with a 4.19 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 105.1 total innings.

The Diamondbacks optioned Drake to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The left-hander missed the final month of 2025 due to a shoulder strain, but he was good to go at the start of camp after being added to the 40-man roster during the offseason. Drake split last season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels, finishing with a combined 4.23 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 106:36 K:BB over 89.1 innings.
