Manager Dave Roberts stated Monday that May makes sense as the team's fifth starter, Dodgers Territory reports.

Roberts has been impressed with how May has pitched so far in spring training, and with Tony Gonsolin dealing with a minor back issue that flared up while lifting, it appears May will claim the fifth spot in the starting rotation. The 27-year-old has appeared in three exhibitions this spring, most recently tossing three scoreless frames and striking out three Thursday against the Rangers.

Ogasawara took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings Monday during a Cactus League loss to the Marlins.

Ogasawara posted his worst outing of the spring against a Miami offense that refused to let up, as the club scored on the southpaw in each of the first four innings. This wasn't an ideal showing for the 27-year-old, who is doing everything he can in camp to prove that he belongs in Washington's rotation.

Webb recorded his second win of the spring by surrendering two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five over 4.2 innings during Monday's Cactus League victory over the Rockies.

Webb navigated around trouble in the early going, giving up an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run homer in the third, but he still managed to come away with the win and had his swing and miss stuff working. Skipper Bob Melvin announced in February that Webb would serve as the club's Opening Day starter, so now it's just a matter of continuing to ramp up in preparation for the start of the 2025 regular season.

Severino surrendered two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings during Monday's Cactus League loss to the White Sox.

Severino had a tough time settling in and allowed both runs in the top of the first inning, but he looked sharp in his final two frames of work. This is simply part of the spring training process for the 31-year-old, who inked a three-year, $67 million contract with the Athletics in December to lead the club's starting rotation.

Parker allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four across four innings during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Marlins.

Parker was scratched from his last spring start after feeling stiffness in his neck, but he gained clearance to toss a side session Friday and ultimately took the bump for Monday's exhibition. It's a great sign that Parker was able to eat up four innings in his latest start, likely indicating there isn't much concern about his availability for the start of the regular season.

Ginn gave up four runs with two strikeouts over 2.2 innings in Monday's spring training loss to the White Sox. He has a 10.00 ERA and a 9:7 K:BB in nine innings this spring.

Ginn looks set to begin the season at Triple-A despite finishing last year in the big-league rotation. He'll likely be among the first pitchers called up if there's an opening, however.

Lopez gave up four runs with two strikeouts and three walks over three innings in Monday's loss to Philadelphia. "Despite those long, taxing innings, my stuff was still there," Lopez told the Minnesota Star Tribune.

He has a 9.35 ERA this spring with seven walks in eight innings, but does have 10 strikeouts. There's likely little concern for his spring stats as a veteran who is likely working on specific pitches. He's already been named Minnesota's Opening Day starter and is healthy as the regular season approaches.

Burrows has a chance to make the Pirates' roster out of spring training, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Burrows hasn't had overwhelming success this spring, allowing four earned runs with only a 4:3 K:BB across five innings. However, he remains in camp with the big-league club despite other of the team's top pitching prospects such as Bubba Chandler and Hunter Barco already being reassigned. If Burrows does make the roster, he'd likely begin in long relief, but he should be an option to make spot starts throughout the campaign.

Keller allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks across 3.1 innings in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles.

Keller has been shaky this spring, as he maintained only a 5:4 K:BB across his first 8.2 innings despite allowing only one earned run. Things unraveled for him further Monday, as he was pulled partway through the second innings after throwing 26 pitches in the frame while managing just two outs. Keller re-entered the game and recovered, but it hasn't been a standout exhibition season for him to this point.

Nunez (elbow) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

It's his first time facing hitters in Mets camp, as the club is proceeding cautiously with Nunez following last season's second-half flexor strain. The team has not yet ruled Nunez out for Opening Day, but it's an optimistic stance to think he could be ready in time.
