Suarez (7-5) took the loss Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

It was a tough night for Suarez in what looked to be an enticing matchup against the White Sox. The right-hander allowed a season-high three homers, including a pair in the fourth inning. The 34-year-old Suarez had been cruising coming into Wednesday's start, allowing just four runs over 30.1 innings in his last five outings. His ERA now sits at 3.49 on the season with a 1.31 WHIP and 87:37 K:BB across 113.1 innings. Suarez will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next week on the road in Boston.

Cannon (3-9) earned the win Wednesday over the Orioles, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Cannon's night got off to a rocky start after he allowed a homer to Gunnar Henderson to lead off the bottom of the first inning. However, the right-hander would keep Baltimore off the board for the remainder of his outing, allowing just four more hits en route to his first win since Aug. 6. The 24-year-old Cannon had struggled to a 7.78 ERA in four starts (19.2 innings) coming into Wednesday. His ERA now sits at 4.53 with a 1.39 WHIP and 70:33 K:BB across 101.1 innings in his rookie campaign. Cannon's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Guardians in his next outing.

The Dodgers will recall Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Friday's game against the Guardians, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Knack will be called upon to fill the gap in Los Angeles' starting rotation created by Clayton Kershaw's (toe) move to the injured list. The 27-year-old Knack has been a reliable option for the Dodgers this season, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 48 innings across 10 appearances (eight starts). While his time in the majors may not extend past Friday, he makes for an interesting streaming option at home.

Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Yamamoto (triceps) will return from the injured list to start against the Cubs next Tuesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Yamamoto allowed three earned runs in four innings across his two rehab starts at Triple-A Oklahoma City, but the Dodgers seem to be comfortable clearing him to rejoin their rotation. The 26-year-old righty only reached 53 pitches during his most recent outing Tuesday, so it's likely he'll be working under a pitch/innings restriction as he makes his first start since June 15.

The Rangers transferred Gray (foot) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Gray was ruled out for the season after he landed on the injured list Tuesday due to neuroma in his foot, and moving to the 60-day IL will officially put an early end to his year. Sandro Fabian was selected from Triple-A Round Rock to take Gray's place on the 28-man and 40-man rosters.

Sanchez (10-9) earned the win Wednesday over the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings. He struck out seven.

Sanchez allowed a pair of runs on three doubles in the first inning before settling in to blank Toronto over his final six frames, allowing just three more hits. It was another strong outing from the left-hander, who's pitched to a 2.60 ERA over his last four outings (27.2 innings). Overall, Sanchez sports a 3.45 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP and 131:36 K:BB across a career-high 159 innings this season. He's currently slated to face the Rays at home early next week in his next start.

The Padres reinstated Darvish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

The veteran right-hander is poised to make his first start for the Padres since May 29 after recovering from elbow inflammation. Darvish built up to 66 pitches in a simulated game Friday but is returning without a minor-league rehab assignment, so he's likely to have some workload restrictions in his first game action in over three months.

The Athletics optioned Boyle to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Boyle has struggled since rejoining the big-league squad in mid-August, allowing 12 earned runs across 15.1 innings. He moved to the bullpen for his most recent outing, though it's unclear if he'll shift back into a starting role upon returning to Las Vegas. His roster spot will be given to Scott Alexander (shoulder), who returned from the injured list Wednesday.

The Cubs placed Steele on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with left elbow tendinitis, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Steele had to be scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday due to inflammation in his elbow, and he'll now officially sit out for another few turns through the rotation following his latest diagnosis. Kyle Hendricks started in Steele's place against the Pirates and figures to serve as Chicago's fifth starter while the left-hander is sidelined.

Kremer (forearm) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Kremer has progressed more quickly than expected after exiting his last start over the weekend after a liner hit his right forearm. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde previously indicated it was unlikely that Kremer would be ready for his next turn Friday versus the Rays, but it appears it hasn't been ruled out. The club will see how Kremer feels Thursday before making a determination.
