Teng (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against San Diego, allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits and four walks over 1.2 innings.

After tossing a scoreless first inning, Teng unraveled in the second, allowing six straight batters to reach after recording the first out. It's a disappointing showing from Teng, who held the Nationals scoreless over five innings in his previous appearance. With Landen Roupp (elbow) expected to rejoin the Giants' rotation Friday, Teng will likely head back to Triple-A or assume a bullpen role.

Pivetta (12-4) earned the win Wednesday over San Francisco, allowing a run on four hits and a walk across 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

It was a nice bounce-back effort from Pivetta after he allowed five runs in a loss to the Red Sox his last time out. Even with the hiccup in his previous outing, Pivetta's been excellent of late, posting a 1.72 ERA over his last nine starts (57.1 innings). Overall, the right-hander's ERA sits at 2.87 with a 0.95 WHIP and 144:36 K:BB across 24 starts (141.1 innings) this season. Pivetta is currently scheduled to face the Giants again at home in his next turn.

Sanchez (11-4) took the loss against the Reds on Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

Sanchez was mostly undone by a three-run sixth inning that featured some shaky defense, including his own error. The southpaw still notched his third straight quality start and has now completed at least six frames in 13 consecutive outings. He owns a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 157:36 K:BB across 150.2 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Mariners early next week.

Woodruff came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Pirates, allowing four hits and two walks over four scoreless innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander was cruising through 65 pitches (40 strikes), but per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, manager Pat Murphy indicated after the game that Woodruff's short outing was planned in advance as he was making his first start of the year on four days rest. Woodruff hasn't looked like he needs much babying since coming off the IL and making his 2025 debut in early July, posting a 2.06 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 49:8 K:BB through 39.1 innings over seven starts. He should be given enough leash to qualify for a win in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Cubs.

Greene (5-3) earned the win against the Phillies on Wednesday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings .

Greene made a smooth return from a groin injury in his first start since June 3, throwing 58 of 85 pitches for strikes and generating 16 whiffs. The 26-year-old has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in 11 of 12 outings this season while posting six quality starts. He'll take a 2.47 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 79:14 K:BB across 65.2 innings into a road matchup with the Angels early next week.

Keller (5-11) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs on eight hits and two walks over four innings as the Pirates were downed 12-5 by the Brewers. He struck out five.

The right-hander couldn't stop Milwaukee from winning its 12th straight game, getting tagged for more than five runs for the first time since June 5 and getting handed his first loss since June 21. Since the latter outing, Keller has posted a 4.34 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB through 47.2 innings over nine starts. He'll look to rebound in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Blue Jays.

Gallen did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out one.

It's the first time in five starts that Gallen's failed to make it through six innings -- the right-hander had won his previous two outings, giving up just three runs over 12 innings in that span. Overall, Gallen's ERA sits at 5.31 with a 1.35 WHIP and 131:52 K:BB across 25 starts (144 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Guardians at home his next time out.

Kelly did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five across six innings.

Facing his former team, Kelly turned in a solid bounce-back effort after giving up four runs in just 4.1 frames in his previous outing against the Phillies. The 36-year-old Kelly has held opponents to two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts. His ERA sits at 3.36 with a 1.09 WHIP and 136:44 K:BB across 25 starts (144.2 innings) between Texas and Arizona. Kelly is currently lined up to face the Royals on the road in his next start.

Lugo came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Nationals, coughing up seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out two.

The veteran righty served up two homers, including a first-inning grand slam to Nathaniel Lowe, before getting the hook after 92 pitches (53 strikes), but Lugo escaped a loss when Kansas City was able to tie the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the eighth. Lugo's two worst outings of the season have been his last two, as he's been tagged for 13 earned runs in just eight innings. Over 30.1 innings since the All-Star break he's labored to a 7.42 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB. The Royals have a day off Thursday and have some options if they want to give Lugo extra rest, but he currently lines up to make his next start at home early next week against the Rangers.

Irvin didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Royals, surrendering six runs on seven hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out three.

The Nationals staked Irvin to a 5-0 lead before he even took the mound for the bottom of the first inning, but the right-hander did his best to squander it, eventually getting the hook after 83 pitches (46 strikes). It's the third time in five starts since the All-Star break that Irvin has been tagged for at least five runs, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 7.88 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB over 24 innings. The rebuilding Nationals don't have any obvious candidates to replace him in the rotation, however. Irvin is scheduled to make his next trip to the mound at home early next week against the Mets.
