Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Angels' Kyle Hendricks: Takes no-decision against Houston
Hendricks didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Astros, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk over five-plus innings. He struck out two.
Hendricks didn't allow a run in the first four innings of Sunday's start, but he got into trouble in the fifth by yielding a pair of homers as part of a four-run frame for the Astros. In his last five outings, Hendricks has allowed 16 runs (13 earned) to go along with a 22:7 K:BB across 28.2 innings. He's slated to face the Nationals in his next start.

Johan Oviedo SP | BOS
Pirates' Johan Oviedo: Advances to sim games
Oviedo (lat) has progressed to throwing sim games, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Oviedo is at the Pirates' spring training facility for the next step in his recovery. He'll still need to embark on a lengthy rehab assignment before returning, but he is expected to rejoin the big-league rotation at some point after the All-Star break.

Richard Fitts SP | STL
Red Sox's Richard Fitts: Drawing start Wednesday
The Red Sox list Fitts as their probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Angels in Anaheim.
As expected, Fitts will slide right into the rotation spot vacated by Hunter Dobbins (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday. Fitts owns a 4.71 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB in 21 innings over five starts with the Red Sox this season, though a good chunk of that ratio damage came in a June 2 matchup against the Angels in which he surrendered three home runs in just one inning. After being optioned to Triple-A Worcester following that start, Fitts posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 12 innings before being recalled Sunday.

Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Awarded another start
Rogers is slated to start Monday's game against the Rangers at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Rogers had a lackluster return to the Baltimore rotation after being called up from Triple-A Norfolk last Wednesday, as he failed to escape the third inning of his start against the Rays while allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks in a no-decision. Despite the poor showing, Rogers will get at least one more start while the banged-up Orioles are short on alternative options for the rotation. Since none of the six pitchers on the Orioles' injured list have even resumed facing hitters at this point, Rogers will tentatively line up for a two-start week, with his second outing expected to come Sunday versus Tampa Bay.

Payton Tolle SP | BOS
Red Sox's Payton Tolle: Elevated to Double-A
The Red Sox promoted Tolle from High-A Greenville to Double-A Portland on Sunday, Josh Ball of Beyond the Monster reports.
The 22-year-old lefty will move up to Double-A after producing a 3.62 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 79 strikeouts over 49.2 innings in 11 appearances (10 starts) with Greenville this season. The No. 50 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Tolle is less than a year into his professional career, but he's already established himself as one of Boston's top pitching propects.

Colin Rea SP | CHC
Cubs' Colin Rea: Tagged with seven runs
Rea (4-3) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Mariners.
Rea served up four home runs, including a pair by Dominic Canzone, in the loss. Rea did not allow a long ball through his first 18.2 innings this season but has since coughed up 13 of them in his last 10 appearances. The poor outing bumped his season ERA from 3.84 to 4.42 through 73.1 frames. Rea has produced a 6.89 ERA over his last six outings, allowing at least six runs in three of those. He's projected to start in Houston next weekend.

Logan Gilbert SP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Wins with shaky outing
Gilbert (2-2) allowed four runs on eight hits over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Cubs.
Gilbert gave up one run through four innings before the Cubs scored three in the fifth. All four runs scored against him came via home runs, including two by Seiya Suzuki, but Seattle's 14-run outburst still led to a victory. Gilbert entered Sunday with just four homers allowed through 35.1 innings this season. He's posted a 16:1 K:BB in 10 innings since returning from the injured list and now owns a 60:7 K:BB with a 3.12 ERA across eight appearances. Gilbert generated 18 whiffs on 90 pitches Sunday, including eight with his splitter. His next start is projected to be on the road against Texas.

Miles Mikolas SP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Falls to Reds
Mikolas (4-5) yielded three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking the loss against Cincinnati.
Mikolas served up a home run to Matt McLain in the first inning but kept the Reds in check until they plated a pair of runs in the fifth. It was Mikolas' third consecutive loss, and he hasn't earned a win since May 23. He tossed 61 of 97 pitches for strikes and dropped his season ERA to 4.31 through 77.1 innings. Mikolas has produced a 3.50 ERA over his last 13 outings after he was crushed for nine runs (eight earned) in Boston on April 6. He's projected to start in Cleveland next weekend.

Jordan Hicks RP | CHW
Red Sox's Jordan Hicks: Endures rough rehab outing
Hicks (toe) retired two of the six batters he faced and allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk in his rehab appearance Sunday with Triple-A Worcester.
Sunday's appearance marked Hicks' organizational debut, after the Giants placed him on the 15-day injured list June 3 before trading him to the Red Sox two weeks later. The right-hander didn't look sharp in his return to game action, as he needed 23 pitches (10 strikes) to record two outs and sported a fastball that averaged 95.5 miles per hour, about two ticks below his season average with the Giants. Boston manager Alex Cora previously said that Hicks was on track to return from the IL next weekend, though the 28-year-old's activation could be delayed if he's unable to show much improvement in his next rehab appearance.

Randy Vasquez RP | SD
Padres' Randy Vasquez: Quality start in no-decision
Vasquez took a no-decision in Sunday's 3-2 win versus the Royals, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out two.
The San Diego righty collected his fifth quality start of the season, as he looked sharp in this 89-pitch outing. Vasquez completed a career-high seven frames, going toe to toe with Kansas City starter Seth Lugo. The only blemish on Vasquez's day was a two-run homer conceded to Salvador Perez in the sixth inning. The 26-year-old will carry a 3.60 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 45:37 K:BB through 80 innings into his next start, which currently lines up to be at Cincinnati next weekend.
