Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Bound for bench
Baez will sit Saturday against the White Sox.
Baez has seemingly played himself out of an everyday role down the stretch, as he finds himself on the bench for the third time in the last six games. He hasn't hit like anything close to an everyday player this season, slashing .221/.267/.319. Zack Short will serve as the shortstop Saturday.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Gets Saturday off
Bichette won't start Saturday's game against the Royals.
Bichette returned Friday from a minimum-length stay on the injured list due to a strained quadriceps, and the Blue Jays won't ask him to start on back-to-back days just yet. Ernie Clement starts at shortstop Saturday, but Bichette should resume his everyday role once he puts the injury further behind him.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Productive in return
Bichette went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's 5-4 win over the Royals.
In his first game action since Aug. 27, Bichette drove in the Jays' first run of the night in the sixth inning before smacking a single in the seventh as part of a four-run rally that put his team in the lead for good. The shortstop had been sidelined with a strained quadriceps, but he looked 100 percent Friday and ready to help Toronto try to lock up a playoff spot. On the season, Bichette is slashing .315/.344/.489 with 18 homers, 55 runs and 64 RBI in 115 games, but his three steals in six attempts are a disappointment for those with fantasy shares in the 25-year-old.

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Begins rehab assignment
Reyes (elbow) started at second base and went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Triple-A Worcester on Friday.
Reyes began a rehab assignment with the WooSox. He played five innings in the field and was removed after getting a third plate appearance in the top of the sixth. Reyes could rejoin the Red Sox before the team's current homestand ends Sept. 14.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Gives team early lead
Seager went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to Oakland.
Seager cranked his 29th home run in the bottom of the first inning to erase an early 1-0 deficit. He's gone deep five times in the last eight games, as Seager continued a massive season at the dish. His 1.052 OPS ranks second behind only Shohei Ohtani (1.066).

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Playing time ticks up
Smith started at third base and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Athletics.
Smith made his fourth start in the last five games, all against right-handers. Unfortunately for Smith, it's been a squandered opportunity, as he's gone 1-for-14 in the four starts. His usage has yo-yoed all season, and with news that Josh Jung (thumb) could return next week, Smith's opportunities should dry up.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Back in lineup
Anderson (neck) is starting at shortstop and batting in the leadoff spot Friday against the Tigers.
Neck stiffness caused Anderson to be a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup, but the issue seems to have subsided after an extra day of rest. The 30-year-old shortstop is 4-for-18 with three runs scored since the start of September.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Activated from injured list
Bichette (quad) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.
It's the first day Bichette was eligible to return, and he has rejoined a Blue Jays club that currently sits a half game up on the Rangers for the final wild-card spot in the American League. Bichette did not go out on a rehab assignment, so a little rust is possible, but fantasy managers will be happy to stick him back into their lineups as soon as they're able.

Kyren Paris SS | LAA
Angels' Kyren Paris: Tallies two thefts Thursday
Paris went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in a 3-2 win against the Guardians on Thursday.
Paris was active in the contest, walking and stealing a base in the third inning and adding another theft after reaching on an error in the fifth. The rookie then came up with arguably his biggest big-league hit to date in the ninth, tying the score with a clutch one-out single and subsequently crossing the plate for the winning run on a Randal Grichuk base hit. Paris has gone just 2-for-16 over his first seven major-league contests, though he's added four walks and three stolen bases.
