Blue Jays' Luis De Los Santos: Set for big-league debut
The Blue Jays selected De Los Santos' contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
With Bo Bichette (calf) and Isiah Kiner-Falefa (knee) on the injured list and with Justin Turner having recently been traded to the Mariners, De Los Santos will help the Blue Jays replenish some depth in the infield. The 26-year-old is up in the big leagues for the first time after slashing .243/.393/.400 with three home runs and two stolen bases in 89 plate appearances with Buffalo on the season. Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Back on bench Tuesday
Rocchio is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
Rocchio was included in the lineup in four of the Guardians' last five games, but in three of those contests, Cleveland faced a left-handed starter or bulk reliever. He still looks to be stuck in the short side of a platoon at shortstop with the lefty-hitting Daniel Schneemann, who gets the starting nod Tuesday. Rocchio is hitting just .163 in July and carries a dismal .201/.293/.286 slash line over 299 plate appearances on the season.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Homers out of No. 9 slot
Volpe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run against the Phillies in Monday's 14-4 victory.
Volpe batted out of the No. 9 hole for the first time this season, but that didn't seem to effect his approach at the plate. The shortstop built onto a big Yankees lead in the eighth inning, swatting a two-run homer to give the team a seven-run advantage. Volpe has homered three times in his past seven games and is batting .313 (10-for-32) with four RBI over that stretch.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Goes on family emergency list
The Tigers placed Baez (personal) on the family medical emergency list Monday.
By rule, Baez can miss 3-to-7 days while on the list, though the Tigers are hopeful that he'll rejoin the team in the minimum amount of time and be back in the lineup Thursday against the Royals, per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. Ryan Kreidler was called up from Triple-A Toledo to replace Baez on the active roster and should see reps at shortstop along with Zach McKinstry.

Leonardo Rivas SS | SEA
Mariners' Leo Rivas: Draws first start since promotion
Rivas started at shortstop in Sunday's win over the White Sox, going 0-for-4 with an RBI fielder's choice.
The 26-year-old saw time as a late-inning defensive replacement in the opening game of the series Friday, but he did not log a plate appearances. Sunday's start therefore marked Rivas' first encounter with big-league pitching since way back on May 9, and the he managed to contribute the Mariners' third run of the afternoon with his third-inning groundout. With J.P. Crawford (finger) projected to be sidelined up to six weeks, Rivas should continue seeing occasional opportunities in the infield.
