Velazquez was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Velazquez was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 12, and he hit .167 with two doubles, three RBI, two runs and three stolen bases across seven minor-league appearances since then. He should serve mainly as depth to close out the regular season but is starting at shortstop and batting ninth in Saturday's game against the Rays.

Wendle isn't starting Saturday's game against the Yankees, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Wendle will get a breather after he went 1-for-11 with a double, a run and seven strikeouts across the last three games. Yandy Diaz will start at the hot corner and bat cleanup.

Franco went 1-for-5 with a two-run single in a win over the Yankees on Friday.

One night after seeing his on-base streak come to a halt at 43 games, Franco reached safely in his final at-bat, extending the Rays' lead to 4-1 in the top of the ninth with a timely knock. The 20-year-old phenom appears fully prepared to thrive in the postseason spotlight if his body of work over his first 68 big-league games (.284/.346/.465 slash line) is any indication.

Anderson went 4-for-4 with a double, one RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's 8-1 win over Detroit.

Anderson collected four hits Friday, including an RBI single in the fourth inning. He also came around to score a pair of runs, bringing him to 94 runs scored this season. The star shortstop is now slashing .306/.335/.468 with 48 extra-base hits on the year.

Franco went 0-for-4 in a loss to the Astros on Thursday, ending his on-base streak at 43 games.

Franco showed no signs of cooling off in Tuesday's win over Houston, when he went 3-for-5 with a double to match the legendary Frank Robinson for the longest on-base streak by a player 20 years of age and under. The conclusion of Franco's phenomenal run came under bizarre conditions as well, as the rookie actually reached first base three times Thursday on two fielder's choice groundouts and an infield single that was ultimately reversed via instant replay. Despite the disappointment, Franco looks primed to not only play a pivotal role in the Rays' upcoming postseason run, but for many seasons to come as well.

Correa went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Thursday's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Correa's three-run long ball off Ryan Yarbrough in the fourth inning broke a scoreless tie and proved to be enough offense for the Astros. It was the 25th homer of the year for Correa, who had gone his previous seven games without an extra-base hit. The free-agent-to-be is slashing .277/.363/.480 with 91 RBI in 631 plate appearances this season.

Bichette went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

He took Gerrit Cole deep in the third inning to give the Jays a 4-0 lead, and then after the Yankees rallied to tie things up at 5-5 in the seventh, Bichette responded with his second blast of the night off Clay Holmes in the eighth. The 23-year-old is doing everything he can to get Toronto to the playoffs, reeling off three straight multi-hit performances and slashing .336/.360/.570 through 27 games in September with seven homers, four steals, 20 RBI and 21 runs.

Anderson was handed a three-game suspension for making contact with an umpire during Monday's game against the Tigers. He is appealing the ban and remains in the lineup Wednesday versus the Reds, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Anderson can continue to play until the appeal is heard and decided upon, so he's still starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Wednesday. The suspension apparently won't have an impact on the playoffs, so there's no concern about the ban carrying over from the regular season. The 28-year-old may end up serving the suspension in 2022 if the appeal isn't heard ahead of the final game of the regular season Sunday.

Mondesi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

He'll get a routine maintenance day while Hanser Alberto checks in for him at third base. Over 21 games since returning from the injured list Sept. 1, Mondesi is slashing a meager .187/.237/.307, but he's worthy of a roster spot in every league thanks to a 13-for-13 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Wendle will not start Tuesday's game against Houston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle hits the bench after starting nine of the last 10 games. Yandy Diaz starts at third base, with Brandon Lowe and Wander Franco starting in the middle infield spots.
