Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Heating up at Triple-A
Winn has a .329/.385/.543 slash line with three home runs, two steals and an 11.5 percent strikeout rate in his last 70 at-bats with Triple-A Memphis.
He is still well below the International League average on the season (86 wRC+), but Winn is eight months younger than the next-youngest qualified hitter in the league (Jhonkensy Noel) and four months younger than the next-youngest qualified hitter at Triple-A (Tyler Soderstrom). Winn doesn't turn 22 until spring training of next year, and he projects as the Cardinals' shortstop of the future.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Sprints into All-Star break
Abrams went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Rangers.
The young shortstop has swiped five bags over the last four games without being caught, giving him 14 steals on the season in 16 attempts. Abrams' bat has also picked up the pace in July, as he's gone 11-for-30 (.367) to begin the month with two doubles and a triple. The 22-year-old has hit leadoff in three straight contests for the Nats, and he could be poised for a big second half.

Andrew Pintar CF | MIA
Diamondbacks' Andrew Pintar: Kicks off rehab assignment
Pintar (ankle) began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Saturday and went 0-for-1 with two walks and a run in his return to the lineup.
Pintar served as the designated hitter and logged three appearances before checking out of the contest in what marked his first game action since April 25. The 22-year-old remains on Single-A Visalia's 60-day injured list while working his way back from an ankle issue, but he'll likely require only a few more rehab games in the ACL before he makes his return to the California League.

Jeter Downs SS | NYY
Nationals' Jeter Downs: Back in action at Triple-A
Downs (undisclosed) has gone 6-for-32 (.188 average) with a 7:14 BB:K, five runs, three RBI and a stolen base in 10 games since being reinstated from Triple-A Rochester's 7-day injured list June 28.
Downs had been out of commission at Triple-A since mid-May due to the unspecified injury, but he was cleared to rejoin the Nationals' top affiliate in late June after completing a nine-game rehab assignment between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and High-A Wilmington. The 24-year-old second baseman hasn't experienced any reported setbacks with the injury since being activated, but his season-long struggles at Rochester have persisted nonetheless. He's compiled a .169/.330/.268 slash line over 88 plate appearances and will likely need to find sustained success over an extended period of time before he gets another look from the Nationals.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Adds another steal
Perdomo went 0-for-2 with a walk, stolen base and run scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Pirates
Perdomo and Christian Walker worked a double steal in the first inning, and he raced home after a throwing error from Pittsburgh catcher Austin Hedges. It was his second straight game with a steal and fourth in 19 contests since being elevated to leadoff. He's done a much better job of getting on base in 2023 -- .378 OBP, up from .285 during his rookie 2022 season -- but that improved OBP far outpaces his .282 xwOBA.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Receives planned cortisone shot
Bogaerts received a cortisone shot in his left wrist as planned after Sunday's game against the Mets, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
This is a planned injection for Bogaerts, who doesn't anticipate needing another such cortisone shot the rest of the year. "Looking forward to a nice second half, and I expect that out of myself," he said Sunday. It doesn't sound like this will affect Bogaerts' availability immediately after the break, but it's something to remember in case his left wrist gives him any trouble later this summer.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Sitting Sunday
Crawford (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Crawford was pulled from Saturday's game with hamstring tightness and will be sidelined for the final game before the All-Star break Sunday, though manager Gabe Kapler said an appearance as a pinch hitter is possible, per Slusser. Casey Schmitt will take over at shortstop while Brett Wisely mans the keystone.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Takes over as leadoff man
Abrams will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Rangers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
After leading off against a pair of southpaw starters (Cody Bradford and Andrew Heaney) in the first two games of the series with Texas, the lefty-hitting Abrams will remain atop the lineup while the Rangers bring right-hander Dane Dunning to the bump for the finale. Abrams took well to the leadoff assignment over the previous two contests, going 3-for-11 with two runs and a pair of stolen bases. He also pilfered two bags in Thursday's game against the Reds, giving him four steals in his last three contests.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Reaches double-digit steals
Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning win over Pittsburgh.
Perdomo swiped his 10th base in 73 games, surpassing the nine steals he had during his rookie 2022 season in 148 games.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Brewers' Willy Adames: Belts two more homers in loss
Adames went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Saturday's loss to the Reds.
Adames provided the bulk of Milwaukee's offense in the contest, tagging Luke Weaver for a solo homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the third. The shortstop has found his power stroke of late, swatting four homers and driving in eight runs over his past four games. His overall slash line still sits at just .213/.294/.415, but with 16 long balls before the All-Star break, Adames has a shot at a second consecutive 30-homer campaign.
