Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Racks up two hits
Edman went 2-for-4 in Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Edman went 1-for-4 in Game 1 of the doubleheader and added two more hits in the second half of the twin bill, pushing his average to .299 with a .780 OPS. The right fielder has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games and is currently riding a three-game hitting streak after going a combined 3-for-8 during the doubleheader.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Slams seventh home run
DeJong went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the 4-1 win Wednesday over the Mets.
DeJong slammed a home run off Marcus Stroman in the fifth inning to open up the lead. The 27-year-old has struggled at the plate this year, slashing .192/.288/.413. However, he leads the Cardinals with seven home runs and 13 walks.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Mashes seventh homer
Turner went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta.
The shortstop's eighth-inning blast off Josh Tomlin was too little, too late for the Nats. Turner continues to streak towards a career year, hitting .314 with seven homers, seven steals, 12 RBI and 14 runs through 26 games.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Launches another homer
Crawford went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored during Wednesday's 6-5 loss at Colorado.
The 34-year-old was incredibly productive during the three-game set at Coors Field, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, five walks, a stolen base, four RBI and four runs. Crawford has a .244/.337/.500 slash line with six home runs and three stolen bases through 26 games in 2021.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Scores three times
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, a walk, two RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over Arizona.
Rojas got aboard with a walk in the first inning and scored on a Brian Anderson single. In the second, Rojas added an RBI triple, and he supplied an RBI double in the seventh. The infielder has been hitting the ball hard lately, lacing four extra-base hits in his last four games. He has yet to smack a home run, but he's knocked two triples and eight doubles among his 26 hits this year. Rojas also has three stolen bases, 10 RBI and 17 runs scored in 28 contests.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Padres' CJ Abrams: Notches two hits in Double-A debut
Abrams went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a walk, a run and an RBI in his first game with Double-A San Antonio on Tuesday.
The Padres' lauded prospect impressed in his Double-A debut, collecting four total bases and reaching base three times. After slashing .393/.436/.647 across two levels in 2019, Abrams was stalled by the minor-league shutdown last season. He doesn't appear to have missed a beat, however, and could advance to a regular role in the majors as soon as next season.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Sitting for Game 2 amid slump
Lindor won't be in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader at St. Louis, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The 27-year-old went 0-for-3 during the matinee to extend his hitless streak to 23 at-bats over the past six games, so he'll head to the bench for the first time this season. Jonathan Villar will start at shortstop in Lindor's place for the nightcap.

Ruben Tejada SS | BAL
Phillies' Ruben Tejada: Lands MiLB deal with Phillies
Tejada agreed Wednesday with the Phillies on a minor-league contract, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Tejada most recently spent the 2020 season as a member of the Blue Jays' 60-man roster pool, but he never received a call-up to the big leagues. An immediate opportunity at the MLB level won't be available in Philadelphia either, so Tejada will likely have to bide his time at Triple-A Lehigh Valley with the hope of eventually getting a promotion. The 31-year-old infielder owns a .250/.324/.317 slash line over 663 career games in parts of nine seasons in the majors.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Returns to bench role
Berti is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Berti's time as a regular in the Miami lineup appears to be over after Brian Anderson (oblique) was reinstated from the injured list Tuesday. Anderson took over as the Marlins' third baseman in Miami's 9-3 win in the series opener, snapping a streak of 11 straight starts at the position for Berti. With Isan Diaz and Lewis Brinson seemingly locked into everyday roles in place of the Marlins' other two injured regulars -- Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) and Starling Marte (rib), respectively -- Berti may only be in store for a couple of starts per week.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Goes yard in Game 2
Baez went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run during Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.
Baez went 0-for-2 with a walk (just his second of the season) in the Cubs' 7-1 win in Game 1, but he made his presence felt in Game 2 -- he came into the game and reached on a fielder's choice as a pinch hitter in the sixth, then launched a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. The slick-fielding shortstop now has eight homers and 24 RBI this season, matching his totals in both categories from last season in 34 fewer games.
