Luis Pena SS | MIL
Brewers' Luis Pena: Out with concussion
Single-A Carolina placed Pena on its 7-day injured list Wednesday due to a concussion, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The 18-year-old skipped complex ball and joined Single-A Carolina for his first taste of minor-league action this year, and he's raked in his first 25 games with three homers, 21 steals and a .327/.400/.505 slash line. Pena will be out for at least the next week due to the concussion, but once healthy, it may not be long before he's moved up to High-A Wisconsin given his strong performance.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Sitting down Wednesday
Wilson (forearm) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Wilson was pulled from Tuesday's contest after taking a pitch off his left forearm, and he'll get another day off to recover Wednesday. Max Schuemann will get the nod at shortstop instead and bat ninth.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Recovery coming along
Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said Wednesday that Correa's concussion symptoms are improving, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Both Correa and Byron Buxton landed on the 7-day concussion injured list after the two were involved in an on-field collision May 15. Correa is farther along of the two in his recovery, although the Twins haven't offered up a timetable for his return. He is eligible for activation Friday.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swipes seventh bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.
The Mets managed only four hits on the night, but Lindor did what he could to kick-start some offense from the top of the order. The All-Star shortstop is slashing just .233/.313/.397 through 18 games in May, but he's supplied three of his nine homers and five of his seven steals on the season during that span.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Scratched due to groin injury
Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Walls was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros due to groin soreness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Cash is hopeful that Walls will be available to play following a scheduled off day Thursday. Jose Caballero will take Walls' spot at shortstop Wednesday, with Curtis Mead entering the lineup at third base.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Giants' Willy Adames: Hits first triple of 2025
Adames went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Royals.
Adames put the Giants on the board in the fourth inning, crushing a flyball to center field for his first three-bagger of the 2025 campaign. He posted his eighth RBI of May before coming around to score. The 29-year-old shortstop is slashing .239/.316/.465 with 13 runs scored, nine extra-base hits -- including three home runs -- and a 7:23 BB:K across 79 plate appearances this month. However, he has logged a 29.1 percent strikeout rate in May, up from 23.4 percent during the first month-plus of the campaign.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Taking seat Wednesday
Walls is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Walls had been included in the initial lineup the Rays released, but he'll end up sitting. Jose Caballero will get the nod at shortstop in place of Walls, who had started in each of the Rays' previous four games while going 1-for-13 with a walk, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Leaves with bruised forearm
Wilson was removed from Tuesday's game against the Angels after getting hit on the left forearm by a pitch, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Wilson remained in the game for a while after getting plunked in the third inning, but he was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter in the fifth. The A's are officially calling the infielder's injury a contusion, so it doesn't seem like he's dealing with any serious damage and could be back in the lineup within a day or two.

Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS
Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Getting starts at second base
Mayer started at the second base twice in the last three games for Triple-A Worcester.
Mayer has moved around the infield for the WooSox but has mostly defended at shortstop -- he's made seven starts at second, four at third and 39 at short. That he's made two starts in the last three games is noteworthy, because the Red Sox recently began giving Kristian Campbell practice reps at first base. If Campbell adapts to the entirely unfamiliar position, he could serve as the team's primary fill-in for the injured Triston Casas (knee), which would open up second base, potentially for Mayer or David Hamilton.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Stays hot in rout
Turner went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a double, a triple and a run scored in Monday's 9-3 victory over the Rockies.
It was notably Turner's second triple in his past four outings, and he now has 15 multi-hit games on the season. The All-Star shortstop has been sizzling at the dish over his last 21 contests, a stretch where he's batting .359 (33-for-92) with one home run, four doubles and 10 RBI to go with 17 runs scored and four stolen bases. Turner is tied for fourth in the National League with 56 hits overall in 2025.
