Lindor went 2-for-6 with a solo home run and an RBI single in Friday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Lindor opened the scoring with a solo shot off Twins starter Michael Pineda in the third inning. He later added a bases-loaded single in the 11th as part of a four-run rally. The shortstop is up to 28 homers, 66 RBI, and 85 runs scored while batting .297/.348/.536 in 564 plate appearances this season. Lindor has also added 20 stolen bases.

Edman went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in a 9-4 loss to the Pirates on Friday.

It looked like Edman's two homers would be enough for the Cardinals to win, as they held a three-run lead in the seventh, but then the Pirates offense exploded. Edman still had a great night, and he has six extra-base hits in his last five games. He is batting .283 with seven home runs, 26 RBI, 42 runs and 11 steals in just 247 at-bats this season.

Baez will undergo an MRI on his left thumb Saturday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs haven't been able to figure out exactly what is wrong with Baez's thumb since he injured it Sunday. He hasn't appeared in a game since. He had an X-ray on Sunday which revealed no structural damage, so the Cubs will be hoping for more good news from Saturday's test.

Crawford is not in the lineup Friday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Crawford won't be asked to face a difficult lefty in Clayton Kershaw. Mauricio Dubon will slide to shortstop in his absence, with Donovan Solano starting at second base.

Baez (thumb) is not in Friday's lineup against the Brewers.

He left Sunday's game with thumb and neck injuries and was set to return Thursday but was a late scratch. It's unclear when he will be ready to return to action. Addison Russell is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh.

Gordon is not in the lineup for Friday's game at Houston, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Gordon started the last nine games and has nine hits and two steals in his last 22 at-bats, but he'll head to the bench with southpaw Framber Valdez on the mound for Houston. Shed Long will start at the keystone and bat eighth in his stead.

Rojas is not in Friday's lineup against the Royals.

He will sit for the second game in a row in favor of Jon Berti. While Rojas started three straight games after coming off the injured list Sept. 1, it now looks like a clear timeshare at shortstop.

Crawford (hamstring) has resumed working out in the weight room but remains restricted from baseball activities, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. "I texted with J.P. last night and he's feeling really good," manager Scott Servais said prior to Thursday's series opener with the Astros. "The initial look from Dr. Khalfayan was maybe not as severe as they originally thought. We'll see when we get back home. But I don't think it's going to be as long as the original thought."

A report earlier in the week indicated general manager Jerry Dipoto still expects a two-week absence overall for Crawford, but Servais' comments seem to indicate his shortstop may beat that timeline by at least a handful of days. In the same breath, Servais also acknowledged the Mariners have no reason to rush the shortstop back, given their lack of postseason aspirations.

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 7-1 win over Cleveland.

Anderson, who missed a month while dealing with a high-ankle sprain, now has enough at-bats to qualify for the AL batting title and pushed his average to a AL-high .332. Since Aug. 1, he leads MLB with 54 hits, and he has hit safely in 19 of the last 21 games. It's been a remarkable season for the shortstop, but his .393 BABIP is warning flag that he may not sustain this pace in 2020.

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Giants.

DeJong took Logan Webb deep in the first inning to record his 26th homer of the season. He's now homered in consecutive starts, the latter of which helped him set a new career-best mark for homers in a season. Though he's hit under .230 since the All-Star break, DeJong has still managed to post 13 home runs with 34 RBI and 33 runs scored across 50 games.
