  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Clubs homer in victory

Duran went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, three total runs and two total RBI in a 7-4 win over Arizona on Tuesday.

Duran's first RBI came on a solo homer in the fourth inning, and he added a run-scoring infield single in the fifth. The utility man has settled into a regular role as the Rangers' starting second baseman in the absence of Josh Smith (wrist/lower body). Smith hadn't been hitting well prior to his injury, while Duran is slashing a strong .296/.369/.480 on the season, so the latter may retain the starting job at the keystone even after Smith returns.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Goes yard in loss

Witt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the White Sox.

Witt opened the scoring early, drilling an opposite-field solo homer in the first inning off Erick Fedde. The shortstop got off to a slow start by his lofty standards but has kicked things into gear of late, posting a 1.040 OPS with four homers, two doubles, five RBI, 10 runs and two stolen bases across 11 games in May. The 25-year-old's overall numbers are now beginning to resemble those of a star once again, as he's slashing .305/.372/.491 with six homers, 11 doubles, a triple, 20 RBI, 20 runs and 12 stolen bases across 42 contests.

  • Chase Meidroth 2B | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Lifts third homer Tuesday

Meidroth went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Meidroth delivered the biggest swing of the night in the fifth inning, taking Stephen Kolek deep for a three-run homer that capped Chicago's five-run frame and gave the White Sox a lead. The blast was his third homer of the season as the infielder continues a strong stretch at the plate. Since the start of May, Meidroth is batting 13-for-39 (.333) with seven runs scored and a 10-game hitting streak. He's now slashing .277/.345/.399 with three homers, nine doubles, eight RBI and 26 runs scored across 167 plate appearances.

  • Oneil Cruz CF | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Three-hit night in win Tuesday

Cruz went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rockies.

Cruz doubled and scored in both the first and fifth innings, accounting for most of the offense for Pittsburgh in this low-scoring affair. It marked Cruz's second three-hit game in the last three contests, and he's now on a four-game hitting streak, having gone 8-for-18 during that span. On the year, the center fielder is slashing .266/.330/.491 with 10 home runs, 29 RBI, 33 runs scored, 15 stolen bases and a 14:62 BB:K across 185 plate appearances. Cruz has one of the most prolific batted-ball profiles in the sport, as he's in the 95th percentile or better in average exit velocity, barrel rate, hard-hit rate and bat speed.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Rays' Gavin Lux: Shut down after setback

The Rays pulled Lux (shoulder/ankle) off his rehab assignment Tuesday due to a left shoulder injury, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

Lux initially landed on the injured list at the beginning of the season due to a right shoulder impingement, and he's already had his rehab paused once due to an ankle injury. He's now dealing with an injury to his other shoulder, so the Rays will shut him down for the foreseeable future and send him in for imaging later in the week. Richie Palacios and Ben Williamson will continue to receive starts at the keystone while Lux is out.

  • Jacob Wilson SS | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Out with shoulder subluxation

The Athletics placed Wilson on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left shoulder subluxation.

Wilson injured the shoulder while diving for a ball during Sunday's game against the Orioles. A subluxation is a partial dislocation, so Wilson's absence could be an extended one. Per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, Wilson will go through exercises to strengthen and stabilize the shoulder before he's cleared for baseball activities. Darell Hernaiz should see the lion's share of playing time at shortstop for the A's while Wilson is out.

  • Anthony Volpe SS | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Joining big club

The Yankees recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Volpe was reinstated from the injured list and optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 3 since Jose Caballero was performing well as New York's primary shortstop. Caballero is now headed to the injured list with a finger injury, opening the door for Volpe to potentially take over the starting job after beginning the season on the IL while completing his rehab from October shoulder surgery. The 25-year-old totaled 19 home runs and 18 steals in 153 games during the 2025 regular season, though his .212/.272/.391 slash line left a lot to be desired. Despite Volpe's promotion, Max Schuemann is getting the nod at shortstop Tuesday in Baltimore.

  • Jim Jarvis SS | ATL

Braves' Jim Jarvis: Sent to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Jarvis to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old was called up last week and will return to the minors after going 1-for-5 with two strikeouts in his first two MLB games. Jarvis has an .863 OPS with four homers and 15 steals in 33 games at Gwinnett this year and could get another look in the majors later in 2026 if Atlanta needs more infield depth.

  • Conrad Cason SS | BOS

Red Sox's Conrad Cason: Returns to action

Cason (elbow) is hitting .267 with two home runs and a 3:1 K:BB in four games in the Florida Complex League.

The two-way prospect is on his way back from August 2025 Tommy John surgery, and while he isn't ready to pitch in games, he is healthy enough play in complex-league games as the designated hitter. Cason is still just 19 and has significant upside as a hitter and as a right-handed pitcher, but the young shortstop will likely be limited to DH duty for most or all of 2026.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Scores three times in win

Schmitt went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a stolen base, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Dodgers.

Schmitt did not drive in a run but was a frequent presence on the basepaths, scoring three times to help the Giants take the first game of the series against their bitter rival. The infielder has been highly productive for an offense that's been largely dormant in 2026, slashing .294/.348/.516 with six homers, eight doubles, a triple, 18 RBI, 17 runs and three stolen bases across 35 appearances. The addition of top prospect Bryce Eldridge to the big-league roster creates additional competition, but Schmitt has performed well enough to continue forcing his way into the lineup regularly.
