  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Takes seat Saturday

Swanson is not in the lineup Saturday against the Cardinals.

Swanson is hitting just .150 so far this season (15-for-100), so he'll head to the bench to clear his head as Jace Peterson gets the nod at shortstop. This will be just the second time this season Swanson isn't starting for the Braves.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Hitting third Saturday

Bogaerts is starting at shortstop and hitting No. 3 in the order Saturday against the Twins.

With the Red Sox shaking up their lineup in an attempt to generate some offense, Bogaerts moves up to a spot in the order in which he's only made one start this year. The 24-year-old leads the team with a .326 batting average and a .380 OBP and normally hits out of the fifth or sixth spot, but could be in line for more at-bats.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Collects three hits in Friday's loss

Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBI in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Rojas now has seven hits in his last two starts, and the 28-year-old utility player has a .333/.388/.400 slash line through 68 plate appearances this season. He also has an impressive 12 runs scored in 22 games, and while Rojas won't be able to maintain his .377 BABIP forever, expect the Marlins to continue finding ways to get him into the lineup while he's swinging a hot bat.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Climbs above Mendoza line again

Anderson went 2-for-5 in his return to the lineup in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles. He had been given a rest day Thursday.

Anderson's two singles Friday raised his average to .207, the second time this season he's crossed the Mendoza threshold. After making a nice splash in 2016, it appears the league has caught up to the 23-year-old shortstop the second time around. Pitchers are feeding him more sliders and it's resulting in more soft contact. Additionally, he's hitting just .171 against right-handers. Right-handers that throw sliders are pretty common in the majors. Anderson and the White Sox have seen a steady dose of AL Central foes, teams that may know Anderson better than others. Perhaps Anderson's bat can come alive when the schedule features more teams outside his division, but word about a hitter's deficiencies circulates pretty quickly around the league. Anderson will need to adjust to the increased diet of sliders he's seeing.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Won't return when eligible

Manager Bruce Bochy said Crawford (groin) won't be activated from the disabled list when eligible Saturday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

While Crawford was hopeful he'd be able to rejoin the Giants once eligible, the veteran shortstop will apparently need some more time before he's ready. It's unclear when the Giants expect to activate him at this point, but he doesn't appear to be too far from a return. The 30-year-old was slashing .263/.284/.434 with two homers and eight RBI before landing on the disabled list April 29.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Ropes trio of hits despite drop in order

Diaz went 3-for-5 with a double and a run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Brewers.

Despite a drop to sixth in the order, Diaz delivered, producing his second multi-hit game over the last three. The young infielder is still underperforming compared to his rookie numbers, but he's now hit safely in nine of his last 12 games and raised his batting average 22 points to .236 in the process.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Activated from DL

Adrianza (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Friday, Brandon Warne of Zone Coverage reports.

Adrianza is finally ready to rejoin the Twins after spending the first month of the season on the disabled list with an oblique injury. The 27-year-old will offer some depth around the infield, but given his career .220/.292/.313 slash line in the majors, he likely won't be anything more than a bench option for the Twins.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Scores twice against Rangers

Correa went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs during Thursday's loss to Texas.

While the double was just the 10th extra-base hit of the season for Correa, and his three home runs and .422 slugging percentage don't jump off the page, the shortstop is heating up. Correa has eight runs, seven doubles, six RBI and a .366/.422/.610 slash line over his past 10 games, so after a slow start, it's encouraging to see him posting high-end fantasy numbers again.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Gets on base three times Thursday

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

The steal was his eighth in 26 games, and Gordon's .294/.336/.367 slash line is right in line with his career numbers. The 29-year-old has shaken off last year's second-half struggles and is reclaiming his spot as one of the NL's top leadoff men.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Drops to sixth in order

Diaz is batting sixth and playing shortstop Thursday against the Brewers.

The 26-year-old is off to a slow start at the plate, slashing just .218/.233/.406 across 101 at-bats, prompting manager Mike Matheny to drop him to the bottom third of the batting order for the first time all season. Stephen Piscotty moved up to second in the order for the game. It remains unclear if the Cardinals plan to stick with this order moving forward, though that seems possible at least until Diaz is able to turn it around at the dish.
