Braden Shewmake SS | HOU
Astros' Braden Shewmake: Dealt to Houston
The Astros acquired Shewmake from the Yankees on Sunday in exchange for right-hander Wilmy Sanchez.
The 28-year-old infielder has previously seen big-league action with Atlanta in 2023 and the White Sox in 2024 and spent all of last season on the Yankees' 40-man roster before being outrighted in February. Shewmake had remained in New York's organization to start the season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, slashing .250/.314/.313 with no home runs and one stolen base over 36 plate appearances. He'll likely head to Triple-A Sugar Land with his new organization.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Finds rhythm at dish
Perdomo went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-2 win over Toronto.
It was an uneven performance from Perdomo. He extended a hit streak to four games (8-for-16) but was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double, was nearly picked off first base, and had a defensive miscue that led to the Blue Jays tying the game in the sixth inning. Aside from the negative plays, it's encouraging to see Perdomo's bat finding life after a slow start to the season. His batting average climbed to .229, its highest point since the beginning of the month.

Andrew Velazquez SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Andrew Velazquez: Joins Diamondbacks
Velazquez signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Velazquez hasn't appeared in a professional game since the regular season began, but he'll get a chance with the Diamondbacks. He should serve as organizational infield depth at Triple-A Reno.

Cole Young SS | SEA
Mariners' Cole Young: Swipes first bag in win
Young went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.
Young came on strong late, driving in two runs, stealing his first base of the season and scoring a run, all in the eighth inning. The 22-year-old has now hit safely in three straight games after going hitless in his previous four. On the season, he's slashing .243/.349/.378 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base across 86 plate appearances.

Colson Montgomery SS | CHW
White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Hits fourth homer Saturday
Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.
Montgomery got the scoring started in this one, taking Luis Severino deep for a solo shot to lead off the top of the second inning. The second-year shortstop continues to struggle to hit for average as an all-or-nothing type at the plate. Montgomery is slashing just .194/.310/.417 with four homers, 12 RBI, six runs scored, one stolen base and an 8:27 BB:K across 84 plate appearances. He's struck out at least once in 16 of 21 contests and has multiple strikeouts in eight games.

Nick Allen SS | HOU
Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Nick Allen: Scratched due to back issue
Allen was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals due to back spasms, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The severity of Allen's injury isn't clear, but he can be viewed as day-to-day until the Astros offer another update. Allen has logged just 22 plate appearances all season for Houston, though he had seen action in each of the previous three contests in the wake of Jeremy Pena's (hamstring) recent move to the injured list.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Swats second homer in win
Wilson went 2-for-6 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the White Sox.
After going homer-less in the first 17 games of the season, Wilson has now gone deep in two of the last four contests after he took an Erick Fedde cutter over the wall in the second inning. Wilson hit just .196 across the first 12 games this season but is 12-for-25 (.480) over his last eight contests. He has six multi-hit games in that span and is now slashing .256/.264/.360 with two homers, 10 RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base and a 1:11 BB:K across 87 trips to the plate.

Athletics' Luis Severino: Surrenders five runs in no-decision
Severino didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts across 5.1 innings.
Severino;'s blow-up inning was the second, as he allowed a leadoff homer to Colson Montgomery before Andrew Benintendi capped the five-run frame with a three-run shot. Otherwise, Severino was effective Saturday, and the Athletics were able to erase the 5-0 deficit to get Severino off the hook. The right-hander's first three starts of the season came on the road, where he allowed eight runs over 13.1 innings. In two home starts against the Rangers and White Sox, the right-hander hasn't been much better with nine runs surrendered across 11.1 innings. He's in line to face the Rangers on the road in his next start.

Dean Kremer SP | BAL
Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Orioles' Dean Kremer: Takes loss in quality start
Kremer (0-1) took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven across six innings.
It was a mostly strong outing from Kremer, who generated 14 whiffs and tossed 58 strikes on 95 pitches. His lone, yet consequential, blemish came in the fifth inning, when he yielded a three-run homer to Brayan Rocchio, and the Orioles' batters were unable to generate enough offense for Kremer to avoid the loss. The right-hander has looked good in his two starts since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk last Monday. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the rival Red Sox.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Dean Kremer SP | BAL
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Cracks three-run homer
Rocchio went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run during the Guardians' 4-2 win over the Orioles on Saturday.
Rocchio gave the Guardians a two-run lead in the fifth when he took Dean Kremer deep right field for a three-run long shot. It was the third home run of the season for Rocchio and extended his hitting streak to five games. In that five-game span, he has gone 6-for-16 (.375) with five RBI and four runs scored.
